Materials may include aerosols, flammable liquids, detergents, and a variety of industrial or retail waste streams, including damaged products.\nThis entry-level role requires a strong safety mindset, solid work ethic, and the ability to perform moderately labour-intensive and repetitive tasks in a warehouse environment. Processing technicians at this level are developing foundational skills that support progression through the technician pathway, including accuracy in receiving, understanding waste streams, and safe operation of equipment.\nCandidates should demonstrate a desire to learn, improve, and contribute to continuous improvement within the facility. Basic computer and technical proficiency is required, as key processes-such as receiving, documentation, and safety checks-are completed through digital systems.\nThe standard work schedule consists of an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday.\nKey Responsibilities\nReceive, inspect, and process incoming waste streams safely, accurately, and efficiently.\nAccurately complete all paperwork, labels, and documentation.\nVerify incoming materials meet acceptance protocols; complete discrepancy reports when required.\nAssist with loading and unloading trucks, totes, and containers.\nOperate processing equipment and machinery in accordance with safety procedures and training.\nConduct job hazard assessments and contribute to a strong safety culture.\nProvide excellent internal and external customer service.\nMaintain facility cleanliness through general housekeeping and equipment upkeep.\nSupport additional facility tasks and activities as needed.\nOther duties as required. \nRequirements\nForklift/Telehandler experience is an asset (training will be provided).\nValid Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation.\nAbility to lift 50+ lbs, perform repetitive physical tasks, and stand on concrete for extended periods.\nAbility to work in all weather conditions.\nStrong communication skills and attention to detail in completing paperwork.\nProblem-solving and organizational skills.\nAble to work independently and collaboratively within a team.\nGFL Benefits\nCompetitive compensation package with a company-matched RRSP program to support your financial future. \nIndustry leading health, dental, vision and mental health benefits-with premiums fully covered by GFL. \nAccess to Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) for you and your family.\nPaid training, professional development, and advancement opportunities.\nA positive, collaborative work culture that invests in your success.\nWe thank you for your interest.
