Provide daily functional direction to mechanics as neededKey Responsibilities:\nPerform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment using industry standard and acceptable maintenance methods and procedures.\nMaintain vehicle maintenance records.\nEnsure safe and productive operation of all equipment by scheduling and completing preventive maintenance for all equipment within state, federal, local and corporate guidelines.\nMaintain safe and clean shop facility.\nReview all D.V.I.R. reports and perform repairs as needed.\nProvide accurate labor hours required for each product line.\nDiagnose and repair operational difficulties with vehicles and equipment.\nMaintain and repair heavy diesel, gas and electrically operated equipment and vehicles.\nComplete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required daily.\nAssist in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinate repair schedule.\nEnsure safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations.\nUtilize a variety of power and hand tools and equipment.\nMaintain a clean work area.\nConform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.\nAssume leadership and supervisory role of Supervisor/Manger in the absence of the Supervisor/Manger.\nMaintain a working knowledge of and keep up with the latest technology through the use of technical manuals and attendance of technical training seminars.\nAttend safety and branch meetings.\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.\nPossess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).\nCompletion of DOT certification for air brake inspection and adjustment and annual vehicle inspections.\nPossess two (2) years practical experience in heavy truck repair.\nComplete all company provided/sponsored technical training and continuing education programs.\nMust be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nAbility to communicate effectively with others.\nDemonstrate ability to follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records.\nAbility to understand and effectively use repair and parts manuals written in English.\nAbility to operate any vehicle, equipment or tools necessary to perform job.\nFrequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment required.\nFrequently lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds. Physical/Mental Demands:\nAbility to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.\nContinuous concentrated mental and visual attention required.\nVisual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\nFrequent physical effort including handling tools and equipment required.\nFrequently lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds. Working Conditions:\nFrequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.\nOccasionally work in high precarious places.\nWork environment is usually loud.\nWe thank you for your interest.
