You will oversee the daily scheduling of preventive maintenance (PM), route unscheduled repairs, track regulatory inspections, manage vendor relations, and coordinate breakdown response for specialized environmental equipment.\nAs the main point of contact between our maintenance team and operations, the Maintenance Service Coordinator will have exceptional communication skills, with an eye for detail and understanding of the work performed within the district. Your work ensures that our drivers remain safe on the road, and equipment downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities\nCoordinate and schedule routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) for a diverse fleet.\nCreate, manage, and close electronic work orders within our Fleet Management System / CMMS.\nPrioritize reported defects, and schedule necessary repairs prior to vehicle dispatch.\nManage active downtime to ensure maximum asset utilization across all operating routes.\nTrack and schedule required annual inspections.\nServe as the primary point of contact for drivers experiencing roadside breakdowns or equipment malfunctions.\nDispatch emergency towing, mobile repair units, or third-party service vendors to resolve issues safely and promptly.\nCommunicate vehicle availability updates directly to dispatchers, operations managers, and field supervisors.\nCoordinate external repairs with OEMs, dealerships, and third-party repair shops.\nReview third-party repair estimates and invoices to verify accuracy, labor hours, and warranty coverage before approving payment.\nAssist in maintaining an adequate stock of critical shop consumables, fluids, filters, and high-wear replacement parts.\nOther duties as required. \nQualifications & Requirements\n2-4 years of experience in fleet administration, shop coordination, or maintenance scheduling, ideally within the heavy truck, waste management, or logistics industry.\nBasic to intermediate understanding of commercial heavy-duty trucks (Class 6-8), diesel engines, trailers, and specialized auxiliary hydraulics/pumps (e.g., vac pumps, lift gates).\nProficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), telematics platforms (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, Fleetio), and basic Google Suite tools. \nValid Class 5 Driver’s License.\nExceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable coordinating between drivers, mechanics, vendors, and management under fast-paced conditions.\nGFL Benefits\nCompetitive compensation package with a company-matched RRSP program to support your financial future. \nIndustry leading health, dental, vision and mental health benefits-with premiums fully covered by GFL. \nAccess to Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) for you and your family.\nPaid training, professional development, and advancement opportunities.\nA positive, collaborative work culture that invests in your success.\nWe thank you for your interest.
