Ensure all repairs and/or maintenance to equipment (diesel fleet, alternate fuel, containers, and other heavy-duty equipment) is performed in accordance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal/state regulations.Location: 241 Vanco Mill Road Henderson NC\nStarting Salary: 80-90K plus 20% STIP Bonus. Follow up on repairs being made, perform repairs as needed and appraise performance of shop personnel.\nSupervise, coach, train, evaluate employee performance or behavior; provide input into hiring, disciplinary action, terminations, compensation, and promotion decisions\nConduct daily shop huddles and fleet walks\nPerform inspections of outside repairs to ensure all work was properly completed in accordance with Company’s safety and compliance procedures and federal/state regulations; follow up where appropriate\nTrack issues and conduct Quality Control Inspections (QCI’s)\nPlan and schedule repairs in M5 planner and procure all parts for successful plan.\nAnalyze the quality and effectiveness of the work performed\nOversee repair diagnostics on more complex matters\nConduct road test on equipment as necessary\nAssist with inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and part levels are maintained and purchases are within budget\nReview and approve expenses that are within approval level; refer larger expenses or major repairs to manager\nMaintain knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems to perform advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions on heavy equipment and vehicles used by Company, both on site and on the road\nUpdate and submit required reports in a timely manner\nManage related administrative matters for team, including payroll, employee records, records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, recording of all information into Company maintenance software\nMaintain open communication with other departments and leadership to ensure fluid and effective operations\nAssist in preparation and submittal of budget\nIntroduce departmental goals and performance objectives established by District and Corporate leadership\nEnsure the cleanliness of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs\nConduct and/or attend periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote morale, productivity, and efficiency\nPerform other job responsibilities as assigned Requirements:\nHigh School diploma or GED\nValid Driver’s License\nThree (3) or more years of heavy diesel truck maintenance experience\nOne (1) or more years of lead technician or supervisory experience\nMicrosoft Office experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :\nAbility to supervise, coach, counsel, discipline, and train employees \nExcellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills\nAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external customers \nStrong work ethic, demonstrating integrity, trust, and maintain confidentiality \nAbility to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environment \nAbility to read, write, and comprehend reports and associated documents \nAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructions \nAbility to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines \nAbility to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects \nAbility to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing \nAbility to make simple and repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists \nAbility to judge the distance between equipment and an object \nFlexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement \nKnowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other related state and federal regulations \nKnowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles\nKnowledge of proper lifting techniques\nFull set of hand tools required.\nKnowledge of welding, compactor repair, air brake inspection, vehicle inspections. Working Conditions: The Maintenance Supervisor may work in various weather conditions. May be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells, such as exhaust fumes, gasoline, diesel fuel, and other dangerous and/or toxic substances or chemicals. Working around moving parts/objects, vehicles, machinery with moving parts. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:\nAbility to drive a pickup or heavy truck, equipped with a 5-7 speed manual shift transmission or automatic transmission, climbing in and out of the truck cab\nEmployee is regularly required to talk, hear, listen, sit and stand\nContinuous riding in a vehicle, walking, standing, sitting, climbing, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, grasping/gripping, and pushing/pulling\nWork utilizing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety-toed boot, utility gloves, reflective vest, hearing and eye protection, hard hat, etc.\nAbility to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a step stool as necessary\nPhysical ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed and maintain steady work pace\n#GFLTalent\nWe thank you for your interest.
