Provide leadership, which results in positive employee/employer relations. Project a professional corporate image, effective resource management, a sound risk management program, high production standards and business expansion and profitable operations.Key Responsibilities:\nSustain a productive and motivated workforce by screening, selecting, hiring, training and developing and evaluating personnel required to meet service commitments.\nAdhere to all wage and hour laws and compensate personnel for services rendered in accordance with established guidelines.\nEnsure safe working conditions at each job.\nDevelop and implement an effective preventive maintenance program that reduces down time, reduces maintenance costs and results in lowest cost of service possible.\nSchedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees and topics covered. Ensure employees follow safety guidelines and perform duties in a safe manner.\nMaintain necessary records.\nManage inventory of supplies and materials.\nOperate equipment as necessary.\nConform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nThree (3) or more years experience in the waste industry desired (landfill or transfer operations preferred).\nOne (1) year supervisory experience.\nCombination of education and/or experience.\nFor Transfer Stations must possess (within 60 days of hire) a SWANA certified transfer station operator.\nFor Landfills must have one (1) years of experience operating horizontal baler and bobcat/forklit. Also must successfully complete training for certification in the removal of Freon and handling of hazardous materials (i.e. motor oil, lead-acid batteries, PCB’s, and CFC’s, etc.) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nExcellent leadership, communication and management skills.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence.\nAbility to satisfactorily perform all duties required.\nAbility to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Physical/Mental Demands:\nAbility to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste and smell.\nVisual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.\nAbility to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions:\nWork in outdoor environment 70% of the time.\nFrequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.\nOccasionally work in high precarious places.\nNoise level is usually loud.\nWe thank you for your interest.
