We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.\nWhat you’ll be challenged to do:\nA Construction Supervisor oversees and coordinates the implementation of all construction contracts assigned to a section. Work of this class involves directing inspection work units.\nIncumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week. Work is performed primarily in an office where there are few uncomfortable working conditions; however, there is occasional exposure to noise, hazardous equipment and extremes of weather when at construction sites. Work requires minimal physical exertion.\nIn this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:\nLead the Work in the Field\nOversee the installation of contracted work across one or multiple projects, keeping everything on track and cost-effective.\nPlan and sequence the work, manage jobsite logistics, and keep a close eye on materials, equipment, and crews.\nOwn the outcome. You'll take the initiative to deliver projects on schedule and on budget.\nCreate a job site where people are inspired to do their best work, guided by a clear, shared vision.\nChampion Safety and Quality\nPut our safety programs into action and conduct regular inspections so every work practice meets standards.\nBuild a culture where safety and quality come first for everyone on site\nHold the work to high standards.\nKeep the Schedule Moving\nEnsure that schedules are developed and update regularly and know the critical milestones inside and out.\nShare the schedule clearly with subcontractors and stakeholders so everyone knows what's coming.\nLead coordination meetings that bring every trade together and get everyone on board with the plan.\nStep in with recovery schedules when things fall behind and get the project back on track.\nManage Contracts and Costs\nKnow the contractor, subcontracts, and vendor agreements thoroughly, and keep field operations aligned with them.\nHelp build and maintain staffing charts, general conditions, and project cost tracking.\nTrack project KPIs and use them to measure progress and drive results.\nSolve Problems and Stay Ahead of Risk\nTackle obstacles, conflicts, and surprises with creativity and sound judgment: timely, confident decisions while always acting with integrity.\nSpot long-term risks early and adjust the plan before small issues become big ones.\nBuild and Develop Your Team\nMentor and grow your team members into a high-performing crew.\nFoster a collaborative, inclusive environment grounded in trust and respect, where diverse talent thrives.\nSet clear expectations, instill accountability, and support each person's professional growth.\nBuild Strong Team Relationships\nDevelop lasting relationships with teams, executive leadership, and project stakeholders.\nRepresent the city with professionalism in every meeting and interaction.\nAnticipate the need and find ways to go beyond their expectations.\nClose Out Strong\nLead the project to the finish line through punch list completion, final inspections, and building operations training.\nWhat you will bring to our firm:\nHave a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. \nHave five years of experience in construction inspection, construction supervision or construction engineering including two years of such supervisory responsibilities as disciplining, evaluating the performance of and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of others.\nWhat we prefer you bring:\nHave an equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-supervisory experience or education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.\nHave a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent driver's license and eligible to obtain a Baltimore City driver’s permit.\nCompensation: The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000.
