Explore some of our signature transportation projects here.\nWhat you’ll be challenged to do:\nAs a Senior Municipal Engineer - Utilities, you will be engaged in the planning, design and construction of wet utilities (watermains, storm and sanitary sewer systems) to support roads, facilities, environmental and transit assignments. You will be directly involved and/or responsible for the collection and review of field data; technical analysis; completion of concept, preliminary and detailed design of storm, sanitary and watermains including the preparation of drawings, calculations, reports, specifications/contract documents and cost estimates.\nIn this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:\nProject Leadership & Delivery\nLead wet utilities projects: Direct the planning, design, and construction of watermains, storm systems, and sanitary systems for transportation and municipal projects.\nManage constraints: Ensure all deliverables meet technical standards, budgets, and operational schedules.\nMaintain project records: Track, update, and manage official project design records and files.\nDesign Oversight & Engineering\nDirect design production: Oversee concept, preliminary, and detailed designs, including civil and third-party utility layouts.\nValidate calculations: Develop, review, and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.\nIncorporate industry standards: Review and integrate municipal design standards and relevant reference materials into ongoing designs.\nField Support & Construction\nProvide technical guidance: Deliver construction administration and on-site support to resolve construction issues.\nConduct inspections: Perform project field and site inspections to monitor progress and quality.\nTeam, Client & Stakeholder Coordination\nCollaborate across disciplines: Actively contribute to multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.\nCommunicate proactively: Maintain open relationships and report on project status, issues, and mitigations to clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.\nRegulatory & Quality Compliance\nManage permits: Prepare, review, and submit permit applications to regulatory and municipal agencies.\nEnforce quality control: Perform QA/QC reviews of deliverables to guarantee compliance with municipal and provincial standards.\nWhat you will bring to our firm:\nUniversity Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resources Engineering or related field of practice is required.\nRegistered P.Eng.\n10 - 15 years of experience in planning, design and/or construction of wet utilities. \nProficiency with watermain and sewer design calculations.\nWorking knowledge of drafting software including AutoCAD & Microstation\nKnowledge of industry standards, permitting/approval processes, and various delivery models\nPreferred familiarity with MECP, Conservation Authorities, lower tier, and upper tier municipalities approvals processes.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.\nWhat we Prefer you Bring:\nWorking knowledge AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley Open Roads software related to sewer and watermain modelling is an asset.\nStrong communication and technical writing skills.\nCompensation:\nThe salary range for this position is $107,000.00 - $150,000.00.
