GFT supports heavy construction projects that require unique problem solving, design of specialized equipment, and development of complex phasing. We also provide traditional design services for buildings, transit stations, industrial facilities, and water/wastewater facilities. Our structural engineers deliver value through innovative solutions and quality designs, utilizing building information modeling for collaboration through design and construction.\nExplore some of our signature projects.\nIn the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:\nWork independently with minimal supervision\nCoordinate with the Project Manager of structural design projects.\nReview designs performed by others.\nPerform structural designs and drawings and write project technical specifications.\nAbility to develop structural drawings in a concise and relevant manner. Proven record of structural design using structural steel, concrete, light-gage metal, and masonry construction materials. Wood framing design is a plus.\nProficiency in Ram Structural System, Ram Concept, STAAD, Mathcad, TEDDS and other structural engineering analysis and design related software.\nAbility to work with various offices and ability to coordinate with various disciplines in a positive and productive manner.\nSound knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT, including the ability to self-perform CAD drawings.\nPerform field inspections of facilities and transit related structures as needed.\nAnalyze existing structures for retrofits/rehabilitations.\nDevelop gravity and lateral systems for various building facilities and transit related projects.\nValidates construction estimates.\nEngaging with all stakeholders in a positive manner via verbal and written communication\nPerform and attend construction phase project meetings and site visits.\nCoordinate closely with Client regarding construction activities and job progress especially activities that will interfere with the client’s daily operation\nBe responsible for the design budgets for assigned tasks.\nAbility to work to meet tight deadlines.\nWhat you will bring to our firm:\nBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college is preferred. Master’s degree in structural engineering is a plus.\nMinimum of 8-10 years of experience in structural design for buildings and transportation structures.\nPE (Structural) or SE license required.\nProficient at providing clear, concise written and oral communication.\nEffective communicator who can maintain and foster positive relationships with public agencies, architects, engineers, permits/inspections departments, and company employees\nUnderstanding of cost control and schedule management\nResourcefulness, imagination and a passion for challenges\nHigh level of fairness, honesty and integrity\nDesign experiences with public transportation projects (i.e. subway, commuter rail, bus, and aviation). Experiences with public/municipal building designs is a plus. \nUnderstanding of the Public Procurement Laws, State Building Codes and other regulations pertaining to structural engineering.\nCompensation:\nThe salary range for this role is $135,000 - $150,000.
