This role ensures timely preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses to support property operations. The Property Accountant also collaborates with property teams and corporate finance to maintain compliance and drive financial accuracy.\nResponsibilities\nPrepare balance sheets and income statements for assigned portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance.\n\nAnalyze, document, and record transactions in the Company's JD Edwards general ledger, maintaining thorough supporting workpapers.\n\nProvide detailed explanations for all balance sheet and income statement variances.\n\nCalculate tenant common area maintenance (“CAM”) charges according to lease agreements.\n\nCollaborate with property teams, financial reporting teams, and other business partners to ensure smooth financial operations.\n\nDocument and record ownership-level transactions and adjustments for assigned portfolio based on relevant legal documentation such as debt agreements, purchase and sales contracts, and joint venture agreements.\n\nStay informed on external accounting and reporting practices to understand transaction disclosures and financial trends\n\nAbility to apply AI tools effectively while ensuring accuracy and data integrity\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field required; CPA candidate is a plus.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in related accounting or finance role required; experience within the real estate industry is preferred.\n\nDemonstrated experience preparing workpapers supporting accrual-based general ledger entries and responding to audit inquiries.\n\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate-level Excel skills.\n\nExperience with an ERP general ledger, preferably JD Edwards or Yardi.\n\nCompensation:\nSalary type: Exempt\nPay Frequency: Bi-weekly\nAnnual Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000\nAnnual Bonus: 10%\nBenefit Information\nCompetitive compensation\nMedical, Dental and Vision beginning day 1\n401(k) Company matching\n401(k) Vests on Day 1\nCareer development programs\nCharitable donation matching\nGenerous paid time off (i.e., vacation, personal holidays, paid sick time)\nPaid Volunteer Hours\nPaid Parental Leave\nFamily planning assistance including IVF, surrogacy, and adoption options\nWellness and mental health resources\nPet insurance offering\nChildcare Assistance\nCommuter benefits\nA culture on our values of Act with Integrity, Build Mutual Trust, Take Initiative and Win Together.\nWe are proud to create a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
