This position can be based in Edmonton or Calgary and will play a key part in growing and delivering our rail and transit practice across Canada, with a focus on Alberta and British Columbia.\nOur team delivers integrated transportation services across the full project lifecycle, from policy and business case development through design, inspection, and construction administration. Our expertise includes roads, bridges, rail and transit, transportation planning, and ports.\nReporting to the Business Group Leader, the Rail & Transit Lead will oversee multidisciplinary teams, strengthen client relationships, mentor team members, and deliver projects that support transportation growth and community connectivity. This role will help expand GHD's rail and transit practice while driving project excellence, innovation, and collaboration.\nWho are we looking for?\nAct as Project Manager, Design Manager, or Project Director on transportation infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients across a range of delivery models.\nLead design development and oversee the preparation of technical deliverables, specifications, and tender documents.\nConduct site visits as required.\nBuild and maintain relationships with transit agencies, railway owners and operators, municipalities, utilities, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders.\nDevelop and implement QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with applicable standards.\nChampion project delivery best practices, quality, and safety.\nSupport collaboration and work sharing across GHD's global network.\nProvide technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and mentorship.\nSupport business development activities, including client engagement, opportunity reviews, and proposal preparation.\nWhat you’ll bring to the team:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience working in transportation in Western Canada\nProfessional Engineer registered or eligible for registration in Alberta. Registration in British Columbia would be considered an asset\nDemonstrated experience managing projects involving rail corridors, track infrastructure, stations, transit systems, and transportation infrastructure.\nStrong understanding of railway operations, corridor management, transit agency and railway requirements, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory approvals.\nTechnical background with experience managing multidisciplinary projects and teams, including setting project objectives, reviewing deliverables, providing design direction, managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk\nProven client management, leadership, and commercial management skills.\nAgile self-starter with a proactive, strategic, and creative approach to problem solving \nOutstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)\nAbility to work under competing priorities, meet required deadlines, and follow processes and procedures\nLI-TC1\nOur Hybrid Work Model: Be part of the dynamic culture!
