This position can be based in our Toronto, Markham, or Mississauga office.\nWe are looking for a motivated student who is currently enrolled in an engineering or related post-secondary program and is interested in gaining practical experience in project coordination and project delivery within the rail and transit sector. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a wide range of transit infrastructure projects, including commuter rail, heavy rail, light rail transit (LRT), bus rapid transit (BRT), stations, guideways, rail corridors, and other transit expansion initiatives. These project types align with the Rail & Transit practice's focus areas.\nWorking alongside experienced Project Managers and technical specialists, you will gain hands-on exposure to multiple stages of the project lifecycle, including project planning, design coordination, stakeholder engagement, procurement support, project controls, construction delivery, and contract administration. Join us in office, three days a week to contribute, connect and excel in our vibrant environment.\nWorking with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:\nAssist Project Managers and project team members with the planning, coordination, and delivery of rail and transit infrastructure assignments.\nSupport coordination across multidisciplinary teams by tracking deliverables, deadlines, and follow-up actions.\nHelp update project schedules, budgets, risk registers, action logs, and reporting tools under the guidance of experienced team members.\nAssist with project controls activities, including basic cost tracking, schedule monitoring, data entry, and performance reporting.\nAttend internal and external project meetings, take clear meeting minutes, document action items, and support follow-up activities.\nSupport document control, quality checks, file organization, and the administration of project management systems.\nAssist with coordination activities involving transit agencies, municipalities, utility companies, regulatory authorities, contractors, and other project stakeholders.\nSupport procurement and contract administration tasks, including organizing information for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), technical submissions, bid evaluations, and contract documentation.\nPrepare draft presentations, dashboards, status reports, spreadsheets, and other project materials for review.\nConduct research and support proposal preparation, market research, and business development initiatives within the rail and transit sector.\nParticipate in site visits, field observations, or project activities as required, following all applicable health and safety procedures.\nContribute ideas to continuous improvement, lessons learned, digital delivery processes, and the use of project management tools.\nWhat you will bring to the Team:\nCurrently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or diploma program in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.\nEligible to complete a co-op or internship work term during Winter 2027 through an accredited post-secondary institution.\nPrevious co-op, internship, project, laboratory, design-team, or volunteer experience is considered an asset but is not required.\nDemonstrated interest in rail, transit, transportation, project management, project controls, or major infrastructure delivery.\nBasic understanding of engineering principles and an interest in learning about project scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.\nStrong organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, ask questions, and work effectively in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.\nExposure to Power BI, Primavera P6, MS Project, SharePoint, AutoCAD, or similar engineering and project management tools is considered an asset.\nKnowledge of rail, transit, transportation, construction, or public infrastructure projects through coursework or extracurricular activities is considered an asset.\nDemonstrated initiative, adaptability, professionalism, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn from feedback.\nAbility to participate in occasional site visits or travel to project locations, where required.\nA valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are considered assets where travel to project sites is required.\nSalary: $21.00\nSalary Range is based on the preferred work location.
