This role demands a strong foundation in traffic engineering, transport planning, and multi-modal design, with the ability to manage complex projects and mentor junior staff.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transport Engineer to lead the design and planning of transport infrastructure projects. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative, sustainable, and compliant transport solutions across roads, highways, and urban mobility systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and technical delivery of transport infrastructure projects including roads, intersections, and traffic systems.\n\nConduct traffic impact assessments, transport modelling, and feasibility studies.\n\nUse software tools such as SIDRA, AIMSUN, and VISSIM for network analysis and simulation.\n\nEnsure compliance with UAE transport regulations and international standards. A candidate with extensive experience working in Abu Dhabi with developers and ITC is preferred.\n\nStrong working relationship with ITC and other transport authorities is essential\n\nCollaborate with clients, authorities, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and delivery excellence.\n\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.\n\nPrepare technical reports, design documentation, and presentations for stakeholders.\n\nSupport tender preparation and contribute to business development initiatives.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Transport Engineering (Master’s preferred).\n\nMinimum 8-10 years of experience in transport engineering, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.\n\nProficiency in traffic modelling tools (SIDRA, AIMSUN, VISSIM).\n\nStrong understanding of UAE transport authority requirements.\n\nExcellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.\n\nTake on some of the world's toughest challenges- with everyone at GHD backing you every step of the way.\nAt GHD, we celebrate the power of a multicultural workforce and champion individual achievement.
