We are seeking a driven, enthusiastic planner to support and help grow our Transportation Practice across metropolitan Atlanta and Georgia. This position will complement our existing team and strengthen our ability to help public-sector clients advance multimodal transportation plans, programs, and projects from concept through funding and implementation. The successful candidate is expected to have knowledge of local governments and transportation priorities in the Atlanta region and across Georgia, including TSPLOST and SPLOST programs, as well as an understanding of GDOT processes and project delivery. The candidate should also understand federal transportation funding and grant programs, including funding administered by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and be able to help clients identify, pursue, and implement appropriate funding opportunities.\nWorking with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:\nTransportation planning focused on complete streets, corridor studies, active transportation and safe routes to school\nApplication of data analysis, site assessment, design concepts and community engagement best practices in transportation planning\nThe ideal candidate would possess the following experience:\nDevelop, analyze, and implement transportation plans and policies to improve mobility, safety, and sustainability\nConduct research and data analysis on transportation trends, patterns, and issues\nPublic engagement and stakeholder collaboration\nComplete streets, active transportation and corridor study projects\nPrepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders\nCollaborate with local, regional, and state agencies to align transportation initiatives with broader planning goals such as safety, resiliency, and sustainability\nMonitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented transportation plans and policies\nStay updated on current transportation regulations, technologies, and best practices\nDeveloping and leading community engagement activities\nDeveloping (or reviewing) funding applications for transportation projects preferred\nWhat you will bring to the team:\nBachelor’s degree in Community, City, or Regional Planning or equivalent related discipline\nAt least 3-5 years transportation planning experience \nProficient in collaborating effectively within a team setting\nEager to learn project management, with direction and/or assistance from senior staff members\nAn eagerness to bring high-quality transportation planning to all Georgia clients\nAn understanding of how transportation planning and design is evolving, for example to include safety, sustainability and land use integration outcomes\nStrong written and verbal skills for communicating technical topics for client and public understanding\nProficiency with analytical and visualization tools such as GIS, Power BI, or equivalent platforms for data analysis, mapping, and communicating transportation insights \nKnowledge of transportation regulations, policies, and funding mechanisms\nAs a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
