The ideal candidate will be comfortable reading and interpreting grant agreements, determining financial and compliance requirements, building grant tracking processes, monitoring budgets, and partnering directly with program leadership.\nThis position is best suited for a self-sufficient and analytical accountant who can identify discrepancies, solve problems independently, and bring structure to the grant accounting process.\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage the financial lifecycle of approximately 27 grants\n\nReview and interpret grant agreements and funding requirements\n\nDevelop and maintain grant tracking schedules, templates, and reporting tools\n\nMonitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding restrictions\n\nPrepare and review budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis\n\nManage payroll and operating expense allocations across grants\n\nPrepare grant financial reports, reimbursement requests, and supporting documentation\n\nReconcile grant activity to the general ledger\n\nSupport month-end close and grant-related journal entries\n\nMonitor restricted funding and ensure appropriate coding of expenses\n\nPartner closely with Program Directors to monitor spending and address over/underspending\n\nIdentify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend solutions\n\nMaintain documentation and schedules in support of financial and grant audits\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required\n\nStrong nonprofit grant accounting experience\n\nExperience independently managing multiple grants\n\nDemonstrated understanding of the full grant lifecycle\n\nExperience with grant budgeting, budget-to-actual reporting, payroll allocations, expense allocations, and restricted funding\n\nAbility to read and interpret grant agreements and translate requirements into accounting and reporting processes\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently\n\nStrong communication skills and experience partnering with program or non-finance leadership\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills\n\nExperience with accounting/ERP
