This role is responsible for complex projects, high-level architectural planning, and making strategic technology decisions that support scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization. Acting as a technical leader, the Senior Cloud Engineer provides mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers while driving innovation, resiliency, and compliance in cloud environments. \nKey Responsibilities: \nDesign and Implementation \nLead the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures and hybrid cloud solutions. \nOversee cloud engineering projects, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and cost-effective. \nContribute to high-level architectural planning and strategic decision-making around technology adoption. \nReview and approve design proposals, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, and automation workflows. \nIdentify risks in design and implementation plans and develop mitigation strategies. \nManagement and Maintenance \nOversee the management of cloud resources across multiple platforms and environments. \nLead performance tuning, scaling strategies, and cost optimization efforts. \nMake strategic decisions regarding upgrades, cloud service adoption, and configuration changes. \nEnsure adherence to operational standards, SLAs, and governance policies. \nTroubleshooting and Problem Resolution \nLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex, high-impact issues across cloud platforms. \nOversee incident response and problem resolution by guiding junior and mid-level engineers. \nDevelop and implement proactive strategies to reduce recurring issues and increase platform reliability. \nServe as the final escalation point for cloud-related technical problems. \nSecurity and Compliance \nLead cloud security initiatives, including IAM strategy, data encryption, logging, monitoring, and incident response. \nOversee vulnerability management and implement security automation in cloud environments. \nEnsure compliance with industry frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, ISO 27001, or NIST. \nDevelop strategies to improve security posture and enforce governance across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. \nDisaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning \nLead cloud disaster recovery and continuity planning efforts across critical workloads. \nConduct advanced risk assessments, failover testing, and recovery exercises. \nMake strategic decisions about resilience design, including multi-region, high availability, and backup solutions. \nDrive improvements to disaster recovery strategies to align with evolving business needs. \nQualifications: \nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. \n5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or IT infrastructure, with increasing technical leadership responsibilities. \nDeep expertise with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with multi-cloud environments. \nStrong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation tools (e.g., GitHub/GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines). \nAdvanced knowledge of networking, container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS/ECS), and operating systems. \nHands-on experience with VMware virtualization (vSphere/ESXi) including vSAN-based hyperconverged storage design, deployment, and operations. \nHands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V failover clustering using Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) for hyperconverged infrastructure. \nProven experience with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks. \nDemonstrated leadership, mentorship, and project management skills. \nExcellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities. \nGHX: It's the way you do business in healthcare\nGlobal Healthcare Exchange (GHX) enables better patient care and billions in savings for the healthcare community by maximizing automation, efficiency and accuracy of business processes.\nGHX is a healthcare business and data automation company, empowering healthcare organizations to enable better patient care and maximize industry savings using our world class cloud-based supply chain technology exchange platform, solutions, analytics and services.
