will be assessed during the interview stages and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.\nKey Responsibilities\nHealth & Safety: Provide active and visible support to the HSE team in enforcing project HSE requirements, Sasol standards, permit-to-work requirements and safe construction practices.\nContractor Management: Supervise and coordinate Mechanical and BMH contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and construction schedules.\nMechanical Construction Supervision: Monitor and supervise the installation of conveyors, transfer towers, transfer chutes, bunker interfaces, steel structures, platework, bins, hoppers and associated mechanical equipment.\nEquipment Installation: Supervise the installation and alignment of conveyors, pulleys, idlers, drives, take-up units, gearboxes, motors, belt cleaners and ancillary equipment.\nMaterials Handling Systems: Ensure all bulk materials handling systems are installed in accordance with approved design requirements and OEM recommendations.\nInterface Management: Coordinate construction activities between Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Control & Instrumentation contractors.\nQuality Management: Support the Quality Manager in implementing quality control processes, inspections and compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).\nProgress Monitoring: Support the Project Planner and Construction Manager with progress measurements, productivity assessments and schedule monitoring.\nReporting: Prepare daily, weekly and monthly construction progress reports and provide updates to the Construction Manager and Project Management Team.\nCommercial Support: Assist with quantity verification, progress measurements and contractor payment assessments.\nDocument Management: Assist the Document Controller with site-generated documentation, redline mark-ups, quality records, inspection records and handover dossiers.\nStakeholder Liaison: Maintain proactive engagement with Sasol representatives, contractors, OEMs, suppliers and internal project stakeholders.\nRisk Management: Identify and communicate construction risks, safety concerns, quality issues and potential schedule impacts.\nCommissioning Support: Support pre-commissioning, dry commissioning, load commissioning, performance testing and final handover activities.\nRequirements\nJob Requirements:\nQualifications\nNational Diploma, BTech, BSc or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.\nTrade Qualification as Fitter, Millwright or Mechanical Artisan will be advantageous.\nExperience\nMinimum 10 years' experience in Mechanical or Bulk Material Handling construction supervision.\nMinimum 5 years' experience on mining, bulk materials handling, conveyor systems, mineral processing plants or heavy industrial projects.\nProven experience supervising conveyor installations and associated materials handling infrastructure.\nExperience working within operating mining or industrial facilities will be advantageous.\nExperience working under EPCM project execution models will be advantageous.\nResponsibilities\nThe Senior Bulk Material Handling Site Supervisor will be responsible for the successful execution and supervision of all mechanical and materials handling construction activities associated with the Coal Offloading Project.\nThe Site Supervisor will form part of the site construction management team and will be responsible for overseeing contractor performance, monitoring compliance with approved designs and specifications, ensuring adherence to project quality and safety requirements, and supporting the successful delivery of the project.\nThe role will require close interaction with Sasol Mining representatives, contractors, OEMs, engineering disciplines and the GIBB project team to ensure the project is executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project objectives.\nExperience on conveyor systems, transfer chutes, stackers, reclaimers, sampling plants and bulk materials handling facilities will be highly advantageous.\nExposure and knowledge to multiple project execution will be an added advantage\nPerson Requirement\nCore Requirements\nAn excellent working knowledge of MS Office\nWorking knowledge of construction management systems and reporting tools.\nWillingness to be site-based for the duration of the project.\nStrong technical understanding of Civil, mechanical construction methodologies, bulk materials handling systems, conveyor installation and site interface management.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction schedules.\nFluent in spoken and written English.\nValid driver's licence.\nMedically fit for work on mining and industrial construction sites.\nGeneral Requirements\nEffectively communicate company values and objectives on
