This includes high capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers, and other specialists.\nThis Sector is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Senior Design Engineer (Roads).\nCore Purpose\nPerform and/or technically lead a team to prepare clear and accurate technical Designs, Drawings, diagrams, BOQs and other technical documents based on design specifications, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software. The successful candidate's other core duties will include assisting in Business Development and project management.\nKey Performance Areas (KPIs)\nThe below listed responsibilities and requirements are assessed during the interview and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for/should possess the following:\nPerform Designs and Implementation of Infrastructure projects (Roads geometrics design specifically) and the Infrastructure element of multi disciplinary projects.\nLead medium to large size projects \nPreparation of bid documents\nContract Administration for projects on Construction Phase\nOptimise utilisation on revenue earning work\nService excellence\nCompliance with Quality Management System\nContribution to efficiency and effectiveness of sector.\nMentor junior staff members\nAssist in the Preparation of Bids\nRequirements\nJob Requirements:\nQualifications:\nBSc Civil Engineering (ECSA Registered)\nMSc Civil Engineering will be an added advantage\nExperience:\nMinimum of 10 years roads geometric design related experience (Civil 3D software).\nExperience in major roads such as Dual Carriageway designs and Freeways designs\nExperience in leading bid documents preparation\nExperience in preparing Construction tender documentation, tender evaluations and contract administration related to roads projects\nExperience in Contract Administration will be an added advantage\nExperience in Pavement and/or hydrology design will be an added advantage\nExperience on design projects in the rest of Africa will be an added advantage\nPerson Requirements:\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
