That means connecting our employees to rewarding careers, building a high-performance culture where collaboration and creativity are rewarded, and providing real growth opportunities for employees to take on new challenges.\nThe Role\nReporting to the Operations Shift Supervisor, the Rail Car Loader is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient loading of all refined products into rail cars at the Moose Jaw Refinery. This role ensures rail cars are properly inspected, secured, placarded, documented, and prepared prior to loading and release to CP Rail.\nThis is a fantastic developmental role to start your career in Operations while earning a competitive wage.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nRail Car Inspection & Loading\nInspect rail cars prior to loading to ensure all nuts, bolts, valves, caps, ladders, and fittings are secure and in proper position\nVerify belly valve positioning prior to loading\nEnsure wheel chocks are properly applied and rail cars are secured before commencing operations\nConfirm appropriate placards are installed identifying product being loaded\nSafely load correct products into designated rail cars following written procedures\nClose and secure safety gates and track areas during loading activities\nComplete required rail car inspections and checklists\nSafety & Regulatory Compliance\nEnsure all TDG documentation and shipping paperwork is accurately completed\nReport spills, incidents, hazards, and product quality issues to the Operations Supervisor\nUse safe work permits and gas testing equipment as required\nMaintain compliance with all Company HSS&E policies and procedures\nParticipate in emergency response and provide on-call support as required\nMaintain effective shift handovers to ensure operational continuity\nEquipment & Operations Support\nMonitor and maintain equipment related to rail loading operations\nPerform minor maintenance and day-to-day upkeep of the rail load-out facilities\nEnsure equipment is properly isolated when not in use\nMaintain high housekeeping standards in the work area\nObtain product samples and support quality investigations as required\nProjects & Continuous Improvement\nParticipate in HAZOPs and support Operational Readiness, Commissioning, and Start-up activities\nProvide operational input during project initiation and development phases\nReview PSSR documentation at turnover on behalf of facility management (as assigned)\nIdentify and recommend improvements to rail loading processes\nContribute to procedure development and documentation of institutional knowledge\nQualifications\n1+ year(s) related industry experience, either in a refinery or rail environment is preferred.\nA certificate in 4th Class Power Engineering is perferred, or a desire to pursue the certification.\nMust have a valid Class 5 Driver's License.\nFamiliar with the location and operation, shutdown, start-up and emergency procedures of all equipment related to rail car loading is considered an asset.\nProficient in the use of PC’s and Microsoft Windows software, including Word and Excel.\nCertified in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods preferred.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements\nWork involves hands-on operation of equipment in an outdoor safety senstive environment.\nMust be available for regular scheduled work hours and on-call emergency response.\nThis job is subject to background checks as outlined in Gibson Energy’s Background Checks policy.
