You’ll provide leadership to field construction inspectors and contractor teams, oversee contractor EH&S performance, and support projects from development through construction.\nWhat We Offer\nWe believe employees should share in the success they help create.\nCompetitive compensation and annual incentive opportunities that reward your contributions and performance.\nGenerous vacation and flex time that support work-life balance and gives you time to recharge\nBuild long-term wealth through our Pension Plan and Employee Share Ownership Program\nEmployer-paid health and dental benefits from day one\nIndustry-leading mental health coverage for you and your family\nFlexible Spending Account to support your unique wellness needs\nFamily Building Benefit supporting fertility, adoption, and surrogacy journeys\nWhat You’ll Do\nChampion safe and reliable project execution and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities that strengthen project delivery practices and Gibson Energy’s Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS).\nProvide construction leadership across a capital project portfolio exceeding $200 million annually, with individual projects ranging from approximately $500K to over $100 million.\nLead, develop, and engage the Construction team, setting clear expectations, managing performance, and building capability, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with Gibson Energy’s values.\nFoster a strong safety culture across the Construction team, reinforcing accountability, proactive hazard identification, and shared commitment to EH&S excellence across all construction activities.\nManage preconstruction and construction planning, including constructability reviews, scheduling, sequencing, value engineering, execution planning, contracting strategies, and contractor bid evaluations.\nCoordinate the deployment of qualified field construction resources to support short- and long-term capital program requirements.\nOversee contractor safety, performance, and relationship management, establishing clear expectations, monitoring compliance and execution, and holding contractors accountable for safe, quality, and timely project delivery.\nDrive the resolution of construction and operational issues in collaboration with project teams and other functional groups.\nEnsure construction activities meet applicable regulations, standards, project requirements, and Gibson Energy’s project delivery and quality management frameworks.\nBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support collaboration, alignment and effective project delivery.\n\nWho You Are\n15+ years of construction experience as a project manager, engineer, or construction supervisor, in the energy infrastructure industry, including complex capital projects.\n5+ years of experience managing or directing a functional team, with demonstrated success developing people and driving performance.\nStrong experience with construction quality management, constructability reviews, construction planning, construction contractor management and project execution.\nPost-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline is considered an asset.\nDemonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans and contribute to functional strategy.\nProven success leading construction activities across multiple concurrent projects, balancing competing priorities, resources, schedules, and operational requirements.\nStrong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build alignment across project teams, contractors, stakeholders, and executive leadership. \nWorking Conditions\nThe majority of work is performed in an office environment.\nTravel may be required 25% to 40% of the time to field locations throughout Canada and the US.\nThis job is subject to background checks as outlined in Gibson Energy’s Background Checks policy.
