We aim to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure that empowers our people and businesses to perform securely, efficiently, and effectively.\nWhat impact can you make in this role? \n\nWe are seeking a Risk & Controls (R&C) professional to be embedded within the Technology function supporting investment and corporate business units. This role will be part of the R&C function which comprises team members driving R&C Strategy and Standards settings.\nOperating within the First Line of Defence, this role partners with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to ensure technology risks are effectively managed and controls are embedded across systems and delivery processes. The role focuses on enabling secure, resilient, and well-governed platforms that support investment decision-making and operations.\nWhat will you do as a VP Risk & Controls Officer?\nTechnology Risk Advisory\nPartner with technology teams to identify, assess, and manage risks across systems, platforms, and change initiatives\nProvide risk input into architecture, system design, and major technology programs\nTranslate technical risks into clear business impact and mitigation actions\nControls Design & Implementation\nDesign and embed controls across the technology lifecycle (SDLC, change management, access controls, data governance)\nEnsure controls are integrated into delivery workflows (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD)\nMaintain and enhance Operational Risk Self-Assessments (ORSA)\nOperational Resilience & Incident Management\nSupport system resilience, disaster recovery, and service continuity frameworks\nOversee technology incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking\nEnsure timely closure of control gaps and sustainable fixes\nMonitoring & Reporting\nDevelop and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for technology risk\nProduce risk dashboards and insights for senior stakeholders\nHighlight emerging risks across systems, platforms, and dependencies\nThird-Party Risk & Governance\nSupport risk assessments and controls for vendors and service providers\nEnsure appropriate oversight of outsourced technology services\nStakeholder Engagement\nAct as a liaison between Technology (1st line), Risk (2nd line), and Internal Audit (3rd line)\nBuild strong relationships with engineering and platform teams\nWhat qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?\nDegree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field\nRelevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP) are advantageous\nMinimally 8 years in technology risk, IT controls, operational risk, or IT audit within financial services\nExperience working closely with technology or engineering teams\nFamiliarity with systems supporting investment, data, or analytics functions is a plus\nStrong understanding of technology risk domains (access management, SDLC, cloud, data governance)\nKnowledge of control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT)\nAbility to balance risk management with delivery priorities\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills\nWork at the Point of Impact\nWe need to be forward-looking to attract the right people to help us become the Leading Global Long-term Investor.
