We are seeking a leader who is passionate about driving transformation in enterprise procurement and IT platforms.\nJob Description\nThe Director, IT Procurement Applications will lead the global delivery, support, and transformation of enterprise procurement systems. This role is accountable for the end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platforms including solutioning in SAP S4, Ariba, Fieldglass, Concur, and ORO.\nThis leader will oversee strategic initiatives, system lifecycle management, vendor coordination, and program delivery across core ERP platforms and it’s peripheral systems. The role requires strong business partnership, technical understanding, and operational leadership to ensure scalable, compliant, and high-performing solutions across a complex application landscape.\nThis role will report to the Senior Director, ERP Finance & Commercial Solutions.\nThis is a site based position at our global headquarters in Foster City, CA. We do offer a hybrid evironment with 3 days on campus (Tues-Thurs) and two days work remote.\nKey Responsibilities\n· Lead global procurement application delivery and roadmap execution\n· Own S2P and P2P processes across sourcing, supplier management, workforce, and expense\n· Drive system stability, performance, and enhancements\n· Manage escalations and ensure timely issue resolution\n· Enable transformation initiatives and platform modernization\nProcurement Solution Leadership\n· Set strategy for procurement applications and ecosystem\n· Lead platform design and evolution aligned to enterprise goals\n· Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience\n· Provide architecture and integration expertise. Evaluating and recommending the best path forward based on company goals.\nBusiness Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement\n· Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Supply Chain leaders\n· Translate business needs into scalable IT solutions\n· Drive alignment and influence senior leadership\nProgram Delivery & Governance\nLead a global team responsible for procurement support, enhancements, roadmap execution, and transformation initiatives.\nOversee production support, including issue escalation and resolution of critical incidents to ensure business continuity.\nEstablish and maintain governance frameworks, operating models, delivery standards, and KPIs for global Procurement delivery.\nDrive disciplined execution across large-scale ERP programs, ongoing support, and strategic transformation initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with SOX, GxP, and enterprise architecture standards, including adherence to financial controls and regulatory requirements.\nOversee release management, delivery quality, and risk mitigation across enhancements and projects.\nPartner with change management teams to drive adoption, training, and overall business readiness.\nCross-Functional Integration\nOversee integrations across the broader finance ecosystem, including: Oracle FCCS (financial consolidation)\nSAP\nBoundary Systems\n\nEnsure seamless end-to-end process integration across procurement, tax, vendor management, workforce, and expense systems.\nPartner with enterprise architecture and engineering teams to support a cohesive system landscape.\nContinuous Improvement & Innovation\nChampion continuous improvement across finance processes and supporting technologies.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate workflows.Drive adoption of innovative solutions, including AI, advanced analytics, and SAP BTP capabilities.\nCapture lessons learned and embed operational excellence across Procurement delivery and support.Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and results.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field.12+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree, or 15+ years with a bachelor’s degree, in Finance, IT, SAP, or ERP leadership.\nDeep expertise in Ariba, Concur and other SAP applications5+ years of leadership experience managing global SAP or ERP teams and/or large-scale support organizations.\nProven experience leading large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations, transformations, and/or global ERP delivery programs.\nExposure to SAP RISE or cloud transformation\nStrong understanding of global Finance processes, financial controls, and integrated finance ecosystems.\nExperience with complex integrations across SAP and non-SAP enterprise platforms.\nDemonstrated ability to define and drive end-to-end STS process design and optimization.Strong communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and influencing skills.\nAbility to balance strategic priorities, compliance requirements, and operational execution with a strong focus on outcomes.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in Life Sciences or regulated industries.Knowledge of SOX, GxP, and compliance-driven environments.\nExposure to RISE with SAP, SAP BTP, and cloud-based transformation initiatives.\nBackground in Procurement process optimization, automation, and digital innovation.\nLeadership Profile\nStrategic leader with strong business and technical acumen.Proven ability to influence CFO, CIO, and senior executive stakeholders.\nExperienced in leading global, cross-functional teams and programs.\nStrong focus on innovation, governance, and operational excellence.\nCollaborative, results-driven, and capable of balancing strategic priorities with operational execution.\nOperates with high accountability, execution discipline, and strong business partnership\nPeople Leader Accountabilities\nCreate Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.\nDevelop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations, and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
