Join Gilead and help create possible, together.\nJob Description\nThe Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of manufacturing, packaging, utilities, and facility assets. The role delivers technical maintenance support, drives equipment reliability improvements, and ensures maintenance activities are executed in compliance with GMP, EHS, and data integrity requirements.\nThe position works cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Facilities and Engineering teams to improve asset performance, support production continuity, and maintain inspection readiness.\nKey Responsibilities\nEquipment Reliability & Maintenance\nProvide day-to-day engineering support for manufacturing and utility equipment.\nSupport execution and optimization of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.\nLead and participate in equipment troubleshooting activities and root cause investigations.\nDevelop and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurrence of failures.\nSupport asset lifecycle management and reliability initiatives.\nGMP Compliance & Quality Systems\nEnsure maintenance activities comply with GMP, EHS, and Data Integrity requirements.\nSupport deviation investigations, CAPAs, change controls and quality records.\nMaintain inspection readiness of maintenance systems and documentation.\nEnsure maintenance documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.\nSupport internal audits and regulatory inspections.\nCMMS & Maintenance Planning\nUtilise Maximo and associated systems to support maintenance planning and execution.\nReview equipment performance trends and maintenance KPIs.\nSupport PM optimisation through data analysis and equipment history review.\nMaintain accurate asset hierarchies, BOMs, maintenance plans and work order records.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve equipment uptime, reliability and maintenance effectiveness.\nParticipate in Operational Excellence initiatives and structured problem-solving activities.\nSupport implementation of reliability-centered and condition-based maintenance approaches where appropriate.\nContribute to standardization and simplification initiatives across the maintenance organisation.\nTechnical & Operational Support\nProvide engineering support during critical production activities and equipment failures.\nSupport shutdown planning and execution activities.\nParticipate in project activities including equipment upgrades, new equipment introduction and commissioning.\nSupport vendor and contractor management activities.\nServe as a technical resource for assigned asset systems.\nKnowledge:\nDemonstrates working understanding and application of Engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards, along with full working knowledge of industry practices.\nDemonstrates working knowledge in aseptic processes, process controls, and equipment design. \nIs able to develop solutions to semi-complex problems.\nDemonstrates strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.\nExperience supporting maintenance and reliability programs in a GMP environment.\nSpecific Education & Experience Requirements:\nRelevant experience and a BS or MA/MBA in engineering.\nPrevious experience in engineering in highly regulated manufacturing environments desirable\nWorking knowledge of CMMS systems such as Maximo.\nExperience participating in investigations and root cause analysis activities.\nExperience with Reliability Engineering methodologies.\nKnowledge of utilities and manufacturing process equipment.\nExperience with Operational Excellence, Lean or Six Sigma tools.\nFamiliarity with Predictive Maintenance technologies and asset condition monitoring.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.\nKnowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices.\nAbility to analyze equipment performance and maintenance data.\nStrong GMP and compliance mindset.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional
