Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and supporting various components of the network as well as evaluating new technologies. This position will help support our voice and data facilities and services. LAN, WAN and WiFi infrastructure in a Microsoft environment. The successful candidate will be skilled in network design, management and troubleshooting and have experience in TCP/IP fundamentals; HP, Extreme, and Cisco network systems, LAN networking technologies, including VLAN’s and network routing protocols. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, be able to work independently, and be able to work on multiple initiatives concurrently.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nEvaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current capabilities.\nDesign and deploy wireless and wired network infrastructure solutions that control WiFi network access points in public and private environments.\nDesign fiber-based wireless and wired backhaul solutions.\nTrack and record roadmap, managing RFQs, benchmarks, and more.\nResolve issues related to traffic flow, security, backhaul, and mobile data offloading.\nCreate security policies for trusted/untrusted WiFi access. Continuously improve network security according to industry best practices.\nProvide overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs. Assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems.\nReceive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals and plans to meet objectives.\nWork is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.\nWork on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.\nManage structured cabling infrastructure.\nManage telecommunications and third-party support vendors.\nMaintain and Monitor various Network Management Systems and respond to incidents, events and alerts.\nMaintain and Monitor various Security Management Systems and respond to incidents, events and alerts.\nMaintain asset inventories.\nContinuous updating of system and network as-built diagrams and documentation. \nSpecial projects and assignments as business dictates.\nResponsible for creation, maintenance and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards, in accordance with Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems or Engineering preferred\n10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer\n5+ years of experience architecting large-scale wireless network infrastructure, with experience designing outdoor/carrier-grade WiFi. Experience with Wireless protocols such as 802.11[a|b|g|n|ac|ax].\n4+ years of experience with Layer 2 protocols such as STP, 802.1[d|s|w], 802.1q, LACP, 802.1x.\n4+ years of experience with Layer 3 protocols such as IP[v4|v6], TCP, UDP, ARP, [HSRP|VRRP], SNMP, NAT.\n4+ years of experience with Layer 3 Routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, ECMP, and VRFs.\n4+ years of experience with stateful firewalls, non-stateful filtering and packet inspection.\nAbility to work autonomously and make decisions based on technical confidence within mobility and core technology.\nKnowledge of ITIL v3\nKnowledge of IT standards, procedures, policies\nUnderstanding of the OSI model\nWireless LAN (WiFi) design, including site surveys.\nExperience with network monitoring and management tools, including Solarwinds Network Monitoring Software\nProficient in Extreme Networks, Dell and HP Network Device Management Systems and Network Automation\nStrong oral, written, and documentation communication skills\nMust have attention to detail and focused concentration\nMust be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently\nMust be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow\nMust possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.\nRole is based on-site at our corporate office.\nFace paced office environment.\n\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nCisco CCNP or equivalent preferred\nCCIE or equivalent preferred\nOTHER DUTIES\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
