That’s the Girl Effect. \nContext of the Role\nGirl Effect’s Communications Department sits within the Development & Communications Function, working directly to mobilise funding for Girl Effect’s programmes. This team is the engine for all global communications activities, with a laser focus on supporting the organisation's ambitious fundraising goals.\nAs Communications Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of our communications strategy, working closely with the Head of Communications. You'll own key workstreams, act as the main point of contact for in-country communications leads, and work with partners' communications teams to support our funder relationships.\nWhat You'll Do\nFunder and partnership support\nBuild working relationships with partners' communications teams, managing co-branded content, joint announcements and communications commitments\nLead the production of funder-facing materials and updates for a range of audiences\nProduce assets and social content for events including global convenings, executive speaking engagements\nChannels, digital and media\nOwn the content calendar and the community management of Girl Effect’s LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube channels\nKeep the digital estate up to date, including search and AI-answer presence\nMonitor media mentions, social engagement and sector news, tracking coverage, opportunities and risks\nRun the press office, including news announcements, monitoring and relationships with journalists in priority titles\nNarrative, evidence and country support\nEmbed the Girl Effect core narrative across all materials and channels\nOwn the evidence pipeline with E&I and programmes teams, so results feed into storytelling\nLead the country communications support model, acting as the go-to resource for in-country communications leads, including training, templates and shared assets so they have what they need from us, and we get what we need from them\nBrand and internal communications\nManage the asset library, photography and video archives and design templates, helping colleagues worldwide stay on brand\nDeliver Girl Effect's internal communications plan with the Head of Communications, including regular all-staff updates\nBudget, suppliers and measurement\nBrief and manage freelance designers, film producers and agencies, keeping work on schedule and within budget\nTrack delivery and engagement measures and report progress to the Head of Communications\nThis list should not be considered exhaustive; you will be expected to deliver other duties relevant and appropriate to this position.\nWho You Are\nAn experienced communications professional who plans, prioritises and solves problems independently\nAn excellent writer and editor who can turn complex programme evidence into clear, compelling stories for funders\nA confident relationship builder, comfortable working with partners, country teams and senior colleagues\nHighly organised, with a track record of running several projects at once and setting up systems that last\nComfortable with digital tools such as Slack, Asana, Google Workspace and social media platforms\nComfortable producing simple assets in Canva\nCulturally aware and respectful\nPassionate about Girl Effect’s work and mission\nMinimum Experience Required\nBachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience in a communications role\n4+ years' experience in external, donor or corporate communications, with non-profit or social impact experience preferred\nDesign and editing experience, and willingness to learn across platforms and software \nWhat Else You Should Know \nAs we continue to scale and grow - we are hugely ambitious for our future, and we are looking for people who are driven to change the world for girls. \nOur teams are a diverse mix across sectors (non-profit and commercial) and specialisms (from Brand and Creative through to Gender and Insight).
