The Engineering Manager supports strong engineering practices, team collaboration, and continuous improvement, while working closely with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery needs with long-term technical quality.\nWhat can you expect your day to look like?\nLead a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and a healthy team culture.\n\nDrive technical excellence in data engineering and BI practices, promoting scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions.\n\nContribute to the technology roadmap and architecture discussions in collaboration with the Solution Architect, Product Owner, and engineering team.\n\nPartner with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery goals with technical health, maintainability, reliability, and long-term platform direction.\n\nSupport technical decision-making by helping the team evaluate trade-offs, follow agreed standards, and apply engineering best practices.\n\nStrengthen engineering practices across code review, testing, documentation, version control, monitoring, deployment, and operational reliability.\n\nSupport engineering delivery by removing blockers, managing technical dependencies and risks, and enabling a sustainable delivery pace.\n\nDevelop and coach team members through regular feedback, career growth discussions, performance management, hiring, and onboarding.\n\nFacilitate Scrum/Agile ceremonies and team processes, promoting effective planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.\n\nWhat do we expect from you?\nExperience 7+ years in data engineering, BI and data warehousing\n\nStrong people leadership, coaching, and team development skills and experience.\n\nSolid understanding of data engineering, data warehousing, BI, reporting and analytical modeling.\n\nAbility to promote technical excellence, engineering standards, and operational reliability.\n\nExperience contributing to technology roadmap and architecture discussions.\n\nStrong Agile/Scrum facilitation and continuous improvement skills.\n\nGood understanding of code review, testing, documentation, version control, monitoring, and deployment practices.\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, architects, engineers, BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.\n\nStrong communication, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.\n\nData quality, governance, and trusted data product mindset.\n\nExperience with SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, MS Fabric, Power BI, or similar data and BI platforms is an advantage.\n\nWhy should you consider us as your next career step?\nCareer opportunities\nMany of our managers started their careers in entry-level positions at Girteka Group.
