Human by nature.\nSpray Dry Team Member I\n$22.00 +$1.00 Shift Diff.\nPurpose of Position\nThe Spray Dry Team Member I is an entry level position in the Spray Dry Division. The purpose of the position is to train and develop in efficiently operating all production areas in the Spray Dry Division.\nEssential Responsibilities and Specific Duties\nSafety\nLearn and comply with the safety procedures, regulations and policies of each spray drying area. \nParticipate in all required safety training and programs\nExamplesLock-Out-Tag-Out procedure, grounding, handling of caustic material, proper lifting techniques, explosion suppression, and usage of respirators and other personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nNotify leads, supervisors, or manager of safety incidents, and risks.\nQuality\nUnderstand Spray Dry Quality programs and comply with procedures, and regulations.Understand the Z2 notification process.\nUnderstand and verify in-process quality checks.\nRecord any quality deviations, and notify the lead, supervisor, or manager. \nAssist in Root Cause analysis for quality deviations.\n\nUnderstand and comply with the Spray Dry Food Safety programUnderstand the department HACCP planConduct and document HACCP checks (sieve, magnet, basket filter, and metal detector) as required\n\nMaintain accurate and consistent records of product run information.\nAssist in Root Cause investigations\nUnderstand and comply with Allergen program\nEnsure that equipment is clean before and after use and document cleaning parameters\nEnsure that items assigned on Master Sanitation List are completed and documented\n\nEquipment/Process Knowledge\nThis position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. Other requirements are to become proficient at using SAP software and understanding the production transactions and systems. Understand the principles, effects and impact on product of the six key areas of spray drying: batching, atomization, agglomeration, powder conveying, packaging, and cleaning. The Spray Dry Team Member must demonstrate adequate reading and writing skills, as well as be able to accurately perform basic math calculations.\nBatching\nIngredient Bill of Materials, and the basics of product families\nOrder of addition\nMix time and agitation requirements\nHeat effects on batching\nAtomization\nEffects of feed temperature\nFeed pressure\nPercent solids\nViscosity\nNozzle size selection\nControl of feed rate\nAgglomeration\nControl of inlet/outlet temperatures\nMaintaining correct dryer chamber pressure\nPowder Conveying\nAirflow\nProduct bulk density\nCyclones, rotary valves, and powder dispensing\nPackaging\nGross/Net, and tare weights\nUnderstand customer requirements\nEffectively package and seal bags according to correct packaging requirements\nCleaning\nUnderstand operation of the CIP system\nCheck key clean points (areas that are difficult to clean in the dryer)\nKosher, allergen, odor, and acid washes\nEquipment Used\nThe Dryer Team Member I will use the following types of equipment:\nForktrucks\nSystems equipment (scanners, computers)\nTransfer pumps, High pressure feed pumps, portable drum pumps\nPortable drum mixers\nHMI control screens\nHigh and Low Shear Mixers\nMill\nScales\nCIP systems\nBulk Pour dispensing systems\nMiscellaneous dispensing equipment\nJob Specifications\nAccountability\nResponsible for product quality conforming to specification by following formula instructions, department procedures, and training.
