There are no limits to where you can take your career.\nJob Summary\nOperates horizontal and large milling machines/vertical multi-axis CNC machining centers using premanufactured fixtures. Operates wide variety of machines with minimal or no guidance from start to finish including testing new programs. Can inspect parts to operations process sheets and adjust machines as required to meet required tolerances. Responsible for meeting quality requirements and part count daily.\nJob Responsibilities\nWorking with groups of machines called cells independently or with others to meet tact time\nBatching and serializing parts\nDocument work as needed\nMonitor, change, and set cutters. Including ensuring cutters get changed at appropriate time and set to correct limits stated on tool sheets\nFollowing various work instructions (i.e batch card, standard operating procedures, inspection method sheets, operation sheets, tool sheets, etc.)\nMaintain a clean area\nInspect parts with tools provided such as micrometers or indicators to operation sheets\nChecking and adding coolant as needed along with monitoring and adjusting refractor coolant level\nRemoving metal chips out of machines and swapping/moving barrels of metal chips when full\nVerify tool offset or work offset or tool length for peers\nMake adjustments to work offsets or tool lengths/diameter as needed to ensure a quality part\nEnsure and complete preventative maintenance procedures assigned to cell equipment (i.e. filters, oil levels in spindle, vactra level for ways, etc.)\nResponsible for machining all parts assigned\nAbility to run a majority of the product mix\nLoading and unloading parts for the machines\nSupport in improving and keeping a safe environment\nSupport in providing and completing continuous improvement ideas\nOther job duties as assigned\nJob Qualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent\n2+ years of Machining Experience in a manufacturing environment\nBasic troubleshooting skills; such as identifying tooling issues\nFamiliarity with the use of measuring devices\nAble to multitask\nMust be US Person (Citizen or Green Card Holder) or have the ability to obtain the necessary Government licensing to work with controlled technology and products\nPreferred Qualifications:\nGKN Experience\nAbility to read blueprints\nExperience within an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred\nExperience with Zimmermann and Simens Control\nPhysical Requirements:\nStanding and walking (At least 7hrs/day)\nAbility to carry and lift weight up to 25lbs\nBending, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling required (At least 2hrs/day)\nUse of hands for fine dexterity, light and strong grasping (At least 7hrs/day)\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe salary range for this position is $50,886 - $63,608 annually and represents the good faith range GKN has established for the role.
