Priorities of the Maintenance Technician include the execution of PM schedules, repair of any equipment that is needed to maintain maximum production rates and maintenance of an adequate spare parts inventory. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week on a shift, weekends as required and fulfill on-call duties for repairs and assistance.\nPrimary Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions):\nUse tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.\nTroubleshoot and perform repairs on machines and their controls (blenders, scales, bottle rinsers/fillers/cappers/labelers, check weighers, case erectors, case sealers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, DC /AC motor & drives etc.).\nMaintain and develop job skills through internal and external training programs.\nContact, specify, and order replacement parts & control components from suppliers through Parts Clerk.\nEffectively contribute to CMMS performance through timely PM & Repair Work Order completion while ensuring compliance to safety and quality requirements.\n1st responder to troubleshooting machine problems, contact Electrical & Controls Technicians if additional support is needed.\nWork with production staff to ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.\nAble to self-train and operate production equipment.\nMentor and provide technical guidance and training to team members including maintenance trainees & operators.\nHelp develop and implement Continuous Improvement projects to improve production efficiencies and Safety.\nSupport Daily Management directives and initiatives.\nConduct equipment inspections to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance.\nAbility to work various shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nJob Skills (Experience):\nMinimum of 5+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting filling and or packaging equipment.\nMinimum of 5+ years of experience with electromechanical troubleshooting 24V-480V systems.\nExperience using Electrical Test equipment: Voltmeter, Ammeter, ohm meter, Megger & etc.\nUnderstanding basic machine function and Sequence of Operations of production machinery.\nExperience in reading Electrical, pneumatics and mechanical drawings.\nBasic knowledge of NEC.\nBasic knowledge of UL508A and NFPA 79 codes preferred.\nLock Out Tag Out Safety procedures.\nArc Flash and PPE Requirements.\nGeneral industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting.\nStrong ability with time management and task prioritization skills.\nStrong experience demonstrating ownership of equipment reliability.\nDemonstrated knowledge/skill in Root Cause Analysis and corrective action.\nDemonstrated knowledge of electrical formulas and mechanical math.\nKnowledge of 3 Phase Industrial wiring and power distribution.\nAC & DC Drive / Motor PMs, wiring & troubleshooting required. Parameter setup preferred.\nTroubleshoot PLC I/O and networking.\nMotion Training with Servo Drives and Motors.\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate effectively with other plant personnel as well as company resources, vendors and diverse teams.\nWorking knowledge/skill using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.\nWorking knowledge/skill using CMMS such as SAP preferred.\nExcellent safety record, attendance, and punctuality.\nDecision Making/Problem Solving:\nProcess improvement implementation, work with experienced team members, maintenance lead, operations and engineering to improve equipment reliability.\nReport/correct unsafe conditions in the building or with the equipment.\nImplement safety improvement projects.\nOwn the equipment in their areas and be a mentor to others.\nEducational Requirements:\nHigh School / Vocational School Diploma or Equivalent - Required\nTechnician level formal schooling - Electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic - Preferred\nBasic PLC and Drive training - Preferred\nPreferred Experience Type:\nIndustrial Maintenance experience required.\nAdvanced knowledge of GMP/HACCP.\nExperience in food processing and packaging equipment and processes.\nDry powder filling experience is preferred.\nFabrication experience is preferred.\nWelding experience is preferred.\nStrong mechanical aptitude.\nExcellent communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and as a team.\nEnglish required (read and write).\nSpanish as a second language (preferred).\nMust have own hand tools.\nSkilled in operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).\nDisclaimer\nThis job description is not intended, nor should it be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, skills, or working conditions associated with the particular job.
