Lecturer - Automotive Engineer 1.0 FTE

The post holder will contribute to excellence in learning by preparing and delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment materials, whilst providing effective support to learners. The post holder will report directly to the Curriculum Manager and work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues and external partners.

The role will specifically involve:

Teaching and Assessment: Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive learning sessions, together with effective assessment and feedback to support learner progress and achievement.

Curriculum Development: Contributing to the development, review and enhancement of curriculum content, learning resources and teaching approaches to meet learners’ needs and curriculum requirements.

Quality and Standards: Contributing to the maintenance and continuous improvement of high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, in line with organisational policies and quality assurance requirements.

Student Support: Providing appropriate academic and pastoral support to learners, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their educational goals.

Continuing Professional Development: Engaging actively in continuing professional development to enhance subject knowledge, teaching practice and professional effectiveness.

The post holder will have an agreed teaching commitment in terms of class contact hours.

Relationships

Establish and maintain positive, collaborative and supportive working relationships with the Curriculum Manager, colleagues and external partners to contribute to the delivery of an outstanding learning and teaching experience.

Provide timely, appropriate and learner-centred advice, guidance and support to students, promoting their engagement, progression, achievement and wellbeing.

Participate actively and constructively in relevant meetings, committees, working groups and other forums, contributing professional expertise and supporting effective decision-making.

Develop and sustain productive partnerships with employers, schools, universities and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen curriculum provision, enhance learner opportunities and support progression.

Provide appropriate specialist advice and guidance on health and safety, equipment, resources and other matters relating to the curriculum area, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
