As GRC continues to scale, this role serves as a pivotal bridge between our strategic goals and field execution. You won’t just be managing tasks; you will be the primary driver of project profitability, client relationships, and operational excellence.\nThis is a leadership position designed for a proactive problem-solver who can navigate the complexities of civil construction while mentoring our field teams and ensuring GRC remains the gold standard for safety and efficiency in the North California area.\nResponsibilities\nThe Construction Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations and have the opportunity to join a dynamic team, gain valuable experience, and be part of the exciting growth at GRC! You must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties.\nOperational Oversight: Manage day-to-day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network.\nCompliance & Safety: Work directly with the Market Manager to ensure safe and quality construction practices are being met by our internal and subcontract crews.\nField Engagement: You will be in the field working alongside the crews 75% of your day.\nField Verification: Verify all construction progress as work is completed. This entails using a utility locator to identify depth and offsets of all newly placed conduit, vaults, etc.\nData Collection: Collect pictures, bore logs, and other data from crews to support customer Quality Control requirements.\nQuality Assurance: Learn and apply all quality metrics to ongoing and completed work to ensure that finished products meet customer, municipality, and environmental specifications.\nFlexibility: Willingness to work night shifts on a rotation basis.\nRequired Qualifications\nIndustry Experience: Must have at least 3 years’ experience working with and around directional drilling crews in the utility construction industry.\nLeadership: Proven supervisory experience is required.\nStakeholder Management: Ability to work constructively with Environmental Monitors, DOT/OSHA, Municipalities, and other stakeholders.\nTechnical Literacy: Strong understanding of utility construction practices and terminology; ability to read, interpret, and adjust various construction drawings/prints.\nSpecialized Tools: Direct experience with utility locating systems.\nTech Savvy: Strong computer skills and experience in data management.\nPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.\nLicensing: A valid driver's license is required for all positions.\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong data entry skills\nStrong background in field management\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills\nProcess and documentation orientation with a focus on continuous improvement.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience with Google Suite and other data entry software.\nAdditional Information\nSalary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 Salary, based on experience + 15% Bonus\nSchedule: Day Shift: Monday - Friday & Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday\nTravel Requirements: 75%\nRole Openings: 1\nTarget Start Date: 2-3 weeks from offer\nInterview Process\nRecruiter Screen\nHiring Manager Interview\nFinal Interview\nConditional offer upon successful background check\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nGlass Roots Construction (GRC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
