The role involves managing z/OS software installation and maintenance, diagnosing system issues, supporting upgrades, and optimizing mainframe I/O performance.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\n- Configure and manage SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended) environments for z/OS software installation and maintenance.\n\n- Order, receive, install, and maintain IBM and third-party software.\n\n- Perform z/OS software release upgrades and maintenance using z/OSMF.\n\n- Build and manage software maintenance workflows through z/OSMF.\n\n- Use IBMLink to order software, research IBM software issues, and create/manage IBM problem tickets.\n\n- Analyze SVC dumps, LOGREC data, and system diagnostic information to troubleshoot z/OS issues.\n\n- Perform Assembler programming and analysis for system-level troubleshooting and diagnostics.\n\n- Manage and troubleshoot z/OS I/O architecture and performance.\n\n- Work with FICON protocols and diagnose I/O-related performance issues.\n\n- Use RMF, SMF, and DCOLLECT for system and I/O performance analysis.\n\n- Diagnose storage, multipathing, and I/O performance issues in collaboration with systems programming and storage teams.\n\n- Support system performance optimization, problem determination, and production issue resolution.\n\n- Maintain technical documentation and follow established change, maintenance, and operational procedures.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\n- 6 to 11 years of experience in z/OS system programming.\n\n- Strong hands-on experience with SMP/E configuration, software installation, and maintenance.\n\n- Experience with z/OSMF software installation and maintenance workflows.\n\n- Hands-on experience with IBMLink for IBM software ordering and problem management.\n\n- Strong knowledge of z/OS I/O architecture and FICON.\n\n- Experience with RMF, SMF, and DCOLLECT for performance and diagnostic analysis.\n\n- Experience analyzing SVC dumps and LOGREC data.\n\n- Knowledge of Assembler for system-level analysis and troubleshooting.\n\n- Strong troubleshooting and problem-determination skills.\n\n- Good understanding of storage and multipathing concepts in z/OS
