Tooling must have a focus on flexibility, quality, cost, and manufacturing ease. \nUses computer-assisted engineering and design software (CREO), Company business system (SAP) and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.\nInterfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and provide appropriate manufacturing solutions.\nSupports quoting process by providing cost estimates for tooling and machining including outsource operations.\nCreate shop packs, including routers, part prints, process sheets for all releases.\nProvides support to manufacturing to ensure product is manufactured based on the intended functionality of the design.\nDevelops and maintains procedures and processes that support and protect core product technologies.\nReviews engineered drawings to ensure manufacturability and appropriate application of GD&T.\nEvaluates, analyzes, and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.\nAnalyzes the risks of a new design or process’ and communicates results accordingly.\nImplements the product design within the required schedule and budget parameters.\nAssists in specifying and procuring materials needed for manufacturing. Analyze, evaluate and work with supply chain to coordinate the procurement of new materials to support manufacturing of products.\nAssists other team members in quoting, sales order entry or any other related task to achieving the business unit’s objectives.\nIdentifies any problems with the implementation or available resources that may affect the schedule or budget and communicates such problems accordingly.\nProvide Manufacturing Engineering assistance required by operations to accomplish the business unit’s goals.\nAssist with the correct implementation and adherence of a business and quality system that supports ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and future AS9100 initiatives.\n\nCOMPUTER SKILLS:\nSAP Modules: Sales; Materials; Quality; Production\nOther: CREO; Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Project; Outlook\n\nJOB SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE:\nCAD experience required.\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred but extensive Gleason experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.\nA basic understanding of cylindrical & bevel gears and workholding equipment is a plus.\nThe individual needs to be a goal-oriented team player.\nThis individual must be a demonstrated self-starter able to work with others as well as carry out written and verbal instructions.\nThis individual must have the ability & desire to interact directly with customers. Some travel & entertaining customers required.\nMust be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.\nSix Sigma or Lean Training Certification is a plus.\nWork holding equipment design experience; Gleason product line knowledge; project management skills; manufacturing background; exposure to Curvic® couplings; ability to assist in accurately quoting and managing projects are all considered beneficial skills.\n\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: \nTravel requirements are <10% of the time and generally within the United States. On a rare occasion some international travel may be required.\n\nMINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:\nEducation Level: Bachelor's degree (B.
