Reporting to the Engineering Analysis Automation Software (EAAS) team, the engineer will provide elevated technical leadership across software development, platform architecture, scientific computing, DevOps, and workflow automation. The ideal candidate has a proven history of driving complex engineering efforts in a regulated environment while consistently delivering high-quality, reliable results.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical ownership by influencing software architecture and development approaches supporting long-term reliability and sustainability\nDesign and implement new features and refactors with a focus on clarity, maintainability, and performance\nEnsure consistent architecture, configuration, testing, and documentation practices that satisfy regulated-environment requirements\nCreate, maintain, and improve multi-repository CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and containerized workflows providing consistent, traceable environments\nOwn and improve recurring release processes by streamlining workflows, reinforcing regression test infrastructure, and minimizing manual steps\nCollaborate with IT, engineering analysts, and software developers to deliver robust tools, automated workflows, and sustainable practices meeting SQA requirements\nProvide onboarding, mentoring, and hands-on technical leadership across a complex scientific software ecosystem\nReduce technical debt by championing maintainable design patterns, modernization opportunities, and consistent development standards\nTake on additional systems, services, and workflows as EAAS technical scope evolves\nMandatory Skills\n10+ years in software development plus a B.S. in Computer Science, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related discipline - or advanced degree with equivalent experience\nExperience developing scientific software that schedules HPC workloads (e.g., via SLURM)\nStrong background in CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development practices\nProficiency with containerization technologies including Docker and Apptainer\nProficiency with Python and modern Git-based development workflows\nExperience developing in SQA-regulated environments (e.g., NQA-1)\nStrong communication, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills\nDemonstrated ability to mentor contributors and guide teams through complex processes\nNice-to-Have Skills\nExperience supporting engineering, scientific, or nuclear software\nExperience with automated documentation workflows\nExperience supporting multiple teams or shared platforms -
