Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nCollins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill who will be reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor on the Weekend Day shift. As the Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating machines in the cell.\nWork Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario - Canada\nShift Hours - Weekday Afternoon (Monday-Thursday) 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.\nWhat You Will Do\nPerform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).\nMaintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).\nDocument actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.\nPerform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.\nSupport and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work\nDevelopment in the cell.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications We Require\nTypically; High school diploma, and a minimum of 3 years of current Boring Mill machining experience and/or 5 Axis Machining experience\nExperience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements\nExperience reading and interpreting blueprints.\nThe selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP\nQualifications We Prefer\nCertificate of Qualification (C of Q)\nVerbal and written communication skills (English)\nDemonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner\n5 Axis Machining experience\nOur Advanced Structures team leverages advanced materials and additive manufacturing to develop complex interior and exterior solutions.
