From preliminary concepts to fielded weapon system support, MA&T delivers innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental & empirically based techniques to state-of-the-art finite element methods leveraging industry leading commercial tools; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.\nThe Mechanical Engineer II - Structural Engineer position is located in Huntsville; AL and the role is onsite.\nRaytheon is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to join the MA&T Department. In this role you will get the opportunity to work on products throughout their lifecycle from initial design trade studies and proposals through qualification testing to enduring production support. Entry level engineers will join and learn from a team of 200+ engineers working in all areas of structural engineering, and can expect a wide variety of assignments, from classical stress analyses to cutting edge computer aided analysis methodologies and field test support at locations around the world.\nWhat You Will Do\nPerform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis\nPerform detailed structural analyses to solve various program structural design challenges\nGenerate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements\nAnalyze test data to validate and correlate models, and/or generate mechanical loads and environments\nWork with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints\n\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience\nAcademic or professional experience in structural design and analysis\nAcademic or professional experience with any of the following tools: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software\nAbility to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently\nAbility to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
