A successful candidate will have a strong foundation in virtual technologies, networking, and databases, and have a strong desire to learn, grow, and solve problems. Successful candidates for this role must have critical thinking skills, be creative, curious, resourceful, and have a passion for conveying a wide range of information through research leading to deeper insights. The candidate may work independently but participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents. A Cloud Engineer must be able to collaborate well with a strong lean-forward attitude to shift knowledge left, deliver well, and produce quality results.\nCore Responsibilities:\nResearch, design, and develop cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services that meet requirements, (e.g., selecting the appropriate cloud platform, creating architecture diagrams, and developing automation scripts).\nResponsible for engineering and integration of new/upgraded mission-essential applications into various platforms to include cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Monitor the performance of cloud-based systems and optimize resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and high availability.\nPossess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve any issues that may arise.\nImplement security measures like encryption and access controls and regularly audit the cloud environment to ensure compliance.\nKnowledge of networking concepts, (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, load balancing, etc.).\nOptimize new or existing applications and data processing pipelines to support efficient use of computing and data storage resources.\nSupport the evolution of DevSecOps processes and tools to ensure continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes are in place and utilized for new or upgraded applications.\nCommunicate system-related issues to technical leads proactively and effectively.\nStay updated on the latest advancements in cloud computing technologies and conduct research to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.\nDemonstrate ability to research and apply new tools, techniques, and solution approaches. Continually learn and improve your skills through sharing with others and taking advantage of available training sources.\nRequired Skills:\nExperience working as a Cloud Engineer, Computer Scientist, Software Developer, or in related fields.\nWorking knowledge with cloud computing platforms, (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, etc.).\nExperience in designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications.\nFamiliarity with programming languages, (e.g., Python, Java, C#, etc.).\nAbility to work effectively with a teleworking team, with virtual access to dev/test/stable environments.\nAbility to optimize and load-balance backend infrastructure and applications supporting the ingest and analysis of network traffic.\nExperience with containerizations (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc).\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to independently or to work effectively in a team environment; the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities/requirements.\nKnowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience in Agile delivery models (ex.
