Provide support to the Marine Engineering Manager with work management, maintenance of client relationships, carrying out product and business development, and tender preparation. Represent Global Maritime when attending on-site and offshore.\nThe role is primarily office/home based, with irregular international travel, sometimes at short notice, to attend for surveys, inspections and client meetings within Europe or occasionally worldwide.\nDuties and Responsibilities: \nPrepare FMEAs for DP and other operation critical systems\nConduct trials of DP and other vessel systems and prepare accurate trials reports\nProject manage and deliver high quality marine and electrical engineering consultancy services\nProvide technical leadership and advice to clients and colleagues \nAssist with the coordination of project work and attendances on vessels for DP trials and other systems assurance activities\nParticipate in the development of new services and initiatives to improve GM’s capability and competitiveness\nBe proactive in the development and delivery of training and in sharing knowledge internally in GM \nParticipate in raising GM’s external profile through preparation of social media feeds and published articles and presenting at industry events\nParticipate in business development activities including identifying opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients and key stakeholders, and preparing marketing material and tenders for new work\nActively seek and record client feedback and opportunities for improvement in safety.\nSpecific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required: An engineering background in Marine / Electrical / Instrumentation or Control Engineering\nUp to date knowledge of regulatory marine and electrical requirements, industry standards, practices, guidelines and methodologies\nA good working knowledge of marine equipment and systems\nThe ability to read and understand system drawings and documents and to analyse, and interpret complex technical data\nCapable of producing high quality documentation in clear and concise English in the form of technical reports and presentations\nExcellent communication and client facing skills including the ability to clearly present complex issues\nThe ability to work independently and as part of team \nProficient user of Microsoft Office applications\nMedically fit for offshore assignments.\nRole Competencies: \nLeads project teams effectively towards project and team goals, able to work independently as well as in a team and promote team working across disciplines\nCommunicate effectively and professionally with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders\nEfficiently differentiate possible engineering paths and uses risk based techniques to solve problems that fall outside routine scope\nApplie sound project management principles when managing projects\nConsider commercial factors when making decisions and defines the appropriate balance between quality and cost in area of expertise\nConfident and self-motivated, work proactively and is focused on delivering team and team objectives.\nQuality Assurance: To assist during external and internal audits\nAssurance of high-quality standard for deliverables\nTo follow and ensure project teams follow the group Business Management System.\nHealth and Safety:To uphold and promote the Company’s Health & Safety requirements with particular regard to agreed codes of practice and safe methods of working.\nBe proactive in raising safety standards when on site and in sharing safety knowledge with colleagues.\nEqualities:\nTo uphold and carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Company’s ‘Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work Policy’.\nCompany Values:\nTo uphold the company values as set out in the Mission Statement.\nYour duties will be as set out in the above job description but please note that the Company reserves the right to update your job description from time to time, to reflect changes in, or to, your role.
