What you’ll own
- Drive production issues from investigation to resolution, using sound technical judgment to restore services quickly, meet service level expectations and protect the experience of our clients and teams.
- Own application, infrastructure and batch health across multiple environments, identifying risks early and ensuring scheduled jobs, client deliverables and service transmissions meet agreed service levels.
- Uncover root causes behind complex technical issues, using logs, stack traces, SQL-based data validation and system diagnostics to restore service and reduce recurring incidents.
- Use SQL and operational scripting to create better outcomes, strengthening troubleshooting, data validation, reporting and recurring maintenance through practical automation and repeatable solutions.
- Influence platform stability through strong cross-functional partnerships, translating technical findings into clear actions and working with Product, Engineering, DevOps, QA, customer support and client teams to drive resolution.
- Identify and reduce recurring operational risks, using service reviews and incident insights to shape process improvements, strengthen reliability and create more efficient ways of working.
- Strengthen operational standards and knowledge, creating clear documentation and automations that align with governance, compliance and established support practices.
- Build your impact across a global payments environment, expanding your technical expertise while contributing to an ever-evolving platform that helps shape the future of commerce.
What you bring
- 4+ years of experience in production support, technical operations, systems administration or a related role supporting enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Linux or UNIX environments, application support, relational databases and production troubleshooting.
- Strong SQL and scripting skills, with experience using Bash or Python to investigate issues, validate data and improve operational processes.
- A practical approach to technical diagnostics, including experience analyzing logs, system metrics, database behavior and application issues to identify root causes.
- Working knowledge of core technology and operations, including networking fundamentals, secure file transfer protocols, Domain Name System (DNS), version control and information technology operational processes.
- Experience with cloud platforms, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), containerized workloads or microservices architectures is valuable.
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills, with the confidence to manage complex issues independently, balance competing priorities and turn technical findings into clear actions, risks and resolution plans.
- A mindset focused on ownership and continuous improvement, with the curiosity to find better ways of working and the determination to create reliable outcomes for clients, colleagues and the business.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline is preferred, or you can bring equivalent practical experience. An associate degree or prior operations experience may also be considered when supported by relevant experience.
