GPD seek to build a peaceful society through gender equality, social justice, democracy and governance.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Internal Auditor \n\nLocation: Garki, Abuja (FCT)\n\nEmployment Type: Full-time\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a strong commitment to ethical conduct and transparency.\nThe Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of states' internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.\nGlobal Peace Development is seeking a skilled and meticulous Internal Auditor to join our team.\n\nDescription of Work\n\nEvaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement to mitigate risks and enhance organizational performance.\nConduct comprehensive internal audits to assess the organization's operational efficiency, financial integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.\nStay abreast of best practices in auditing to continually enhance internal audit processes.\nMonitor external audit processes and make recommendations and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness.\nDevelop audit plans, execute Audit procedures, and prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings and recommendations.\nCollaborate with state Accountants to guide best practices, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.\n\nRequired Qualification and Experience\n\nStrong understanding of auditing standards, internal controls, risk assessment, methodologies, and governance principles.\nHigh ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.\nExperience in tax returns and compliance with government regulations\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.\nHND/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or related field; professional certification such as ICAN, CIA, CPA, or CISA is preferred.\nProven experience (4 years) in internal auditing, risk management, or a similar role, preferably within a national or international organization\nProficiency in conducting audits using relevant tools and software;
