This is an opportunity to influence the design and implementation of systems at scales that many do not get a chance to work at.\nYour job:\nEnsure service reliability and up-time in production and test environments\nBe on-call and provide 3rd level troubleshooting support when required\nMonitoring up-time and performance of production systems\nExecuting common sysadmin (system administration) tasks such as applying patches and report generation and some DB administration\nOccasionally help out in improving tools to reduce repetitive work and improve consistency\nAbout you:\n3+ years' experience as a production operations or SRE or similar role\nUnderstanding of software systems concepts such as networking, firewalls, protocols, databases and more\nExperience with:\nLinux Teams: Linux (CentOS preferred), Bash and Maven/Gradle\nWindow Teams: Windows, PowerShell and Nuget\nRDBS and NoSQL DBs such as Ms SQL, Cassandra\nCI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo\nInfrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or Puppet\nContainerization/Virtualization technology such as Docker, VMware or OpenShift Kubernetes\nLoad balancing tools such as HA-Proxy, Nginx or F5\nExperience with the following would be considered an asset:\nExperience with any of these: Cassandra, Zookeeper, Hadoop, Kafka, Ms SQL, or MongoDB\nExperience leading or mentoring others\nUnderstanding of software delivery practices such as feature toggling, no-downtime deployment\nCompensation:\n\nGlobal Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. \nThe range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.
