The incumbent will work closely within the IT Operations team to continually build, enhance, and maintain our highly available on-prem Kubernetes infrastructure.\nYour responsibilities:\nAssist in the design (major or incremental) of Kubernetes infrastructure\nAssist in the provisioning of Kubernetes infrastructure\nIdentify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct systems related issues as they arise\nMonitor and review dashboards, logs, and critical alerts to ensure system issues are identified, escalated, and addressed as quickly as possible\nProvide ongoing operational support and work closely with team members on issue resolution\nManage and administer incident, problem, and service request queues\nDevelop and maintain system use guides, run books, and other documentation as needed\nEvaluate and determine opportunities for automation and implementation\nAbout you:\nExperienced managing Kubernetes infrastructure in self-hosted production environments\n5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator preferably within a software development environment\nProficient at installing, configuring, and administering Kubernetes distributions\nExperience with Docker containers, experience with other containerization technology is an asset\nSolid understanding of both general and Kubernetes networking/firewall concepts and their role with regards to Kubernetes infrastructure and application delivery\nExperience with complex IT infrastructure architecture planning, design, and implementation\nAdaptability to working with multiple teams on projects with varying degrees of flexibility/rigidity at different points in the development cycle\nPrevious experience working in an environment with formally structured IT Operational processes: work request ticket management, incident management, change management, and problem management\nProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, and/or Bash\nAbility to develop and maintain positive working relationships\nAbility to work in a team environment and independently as needed\nAbility to adapt to change and work well under pressure\nAbility to multitask and manage numerous projects\nAbility to take on internal operational initiatives as a prime or lead\nExcellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and documentation skills\nExperience running and supporting a global 24x7 internet based service or product is considered an asset\nService management certifications such as ITIL is considered an asset\nCompensation:\n\nGlobal Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. \nThe range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.
