The Sous Chef assists in the day to day operations of the corporate kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and well-presented food for office staff and guests. This role is integral to maintaining operational efficiency, organisation, and culinary excellence, while also promoting a positive, professional, and collaborative kitchen environment. In the absence of the Head Chef, the Sous Chef assumes full responsibility for kitchen operations, staff coordination, and the maintenance of service and quality standards.\nYour role: \nAssist the Head Chef with food preparation, cooking, menu planning, organisation (breakfast, lunch or special events) and collaborate with that matter\nHelp in the design, food testing, and implementation of the food during the season.\nProduce quality food for our staff & clients in both design and taste.\nMonitoring the kitchen area and the staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained\nTraining and supervise new kitchen members.\nDaily checking up on our floors & satellite kitchens and making sure they are on high standard before leave\nAssist with food labelling, inventory & ordering\nEnsure that food is high quality, and that kitchen is in good, clean, and hygienic condition.\nEnsuring all food products to be prepared are not expired\nDeputising for the head Chef in their absence\nEnsure every employee in the kitchen follows good hygiene practices, is dressed in accordance with policy and arrives for work on time.\nOffer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance, menu options, and service levels.\nUnloading and putting away deliveries & goods on daily basis\nMonitor and maintain the kitchen equipment, and report repairs and service as needed to our admin team\nCoordinate satellite kitchen floors, prep planning, and ingredient tracking\nSupport sourcing, ordering, and stock management\nOffice & Administrative Support\nManage daily admin tasks, scheduling, and internal coordination\nAssist with emails, documentation, and basic reporting\nHelp streamline systems and workflows for the Head Chef\nAct as a point of contact between kitchen, suppliers, and external partners\nYour responsibilities:\nProven experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role\n3 years experience in similar setting\nStrong organisational and multitasking skills\nComfortable working in an office-based environment alongside open kitchen operations\nExcellent communication and attention to detail\nConfident with basic office tools (email, spreadsheets, documents)\nDiscreet, reliable, and professional\nWork conditions:\nCalm under pressure and solution-focused\nLoyal, trustworthy, and proactive\nTakes initiative and anticipates needs\nFlexible mindset and adaptable to a dynamic role\nHas the potential to be hazardous working with cleaning materials, hot liquids and sharp objects.\nMust share space with general staff in a safe and responsible manner. Fast paced and high stress environment. Must meet deadlines daily. \nGeneral working hours are 7am - 4pm with potential for varying hours of work when required. \nPhysical requirements:\nPhysically demanding job. Must lift heavy objects.
