You will take custom projects from pricing and design development through to production-ready documentation and manufacture.\nThe ideal candidate has strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills, understands manufacturing processes, and can develop practical designs that are accurate, commercially viable, and ready for production.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Design & Development\nDevelop and adapt custom products using existing product platforms, systems, and components.\nCreate detailed 3D models, assemblies, configurations, and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.\nDevelop customer-approved concepts into production-ready designs.\nProduce customer approval drawings and presentation drawings.\nEnsure designs meet manufacturing, quality, and project requirements.\nManufacturing Documentation\nPrepare detailed production and fabrication drawings.\nCreate Bills of Materials (BOMs), cutting lists, and assembly documentation.\nPrepare AutoCAD cutting files and CNC-ready drawings.\nDevelop accurate and consistent production documentation throughout the project lifecycle.\nMaintain drawing standards, templates, product libraries, and technical data.\nPricing & Project Support\nAssist with pricing custom products and project-based solutions.\nDetermine material, hardware, component, and quantity requirements.\nSupport projects from quotation through production release.\nWork with production and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical and commercially viable.\nCNC & Manufacturing\nDevelop CNC cutting files and efficient nesting layouts.\nConsider material utilization and production efficiency when developing designs.\nApply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.\nProvide technical support to production teams and resolve manufacturing-related design issues.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve product design, manufacturing efficiency, and documentation.\nContribute to product development and process improvement initiatives.\nRequirements\nEssential\nStrong experience using SolidWorks, including:3D modelling, Assemblies, Configurations, Detailed manufacturing drawings\n\nGood working knowledge of AutoCAD.\nProven experience designing products for manufacture.\nExperience producing production-ready technical drawings and documentation.\nExperience with custom or project-based product design and pricing.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, hardware, and DFMA principles.\nExperience preparing BOMs, cutting lists, and assembly documentation.\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities.\nDesirable\nExperience in one or more of the following:Commercial furniture\nCommercial interiors\nJoinery\nArchitectural products\nWorkplace solutions\n\nCNC manufacturing experience, particularly CNC routing and nesting.\nExperience with customized products for commercial projects.\nExposure to Australian manufacturing standards, products, or production environments.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe are looking for someone who understands how products are designed, detailed, and manufactured.\nYou should be comfortable managing the technical workflow from:\nPricing → Customer Approval → Design Development → Production Drawings → CNC/Cutting Files → BOM → Manufacture\nThis role is particularly suited to a designer with an engineering or manufacturing mindset who enjoys solving practical design problems and seeing their work progress from drawing to finished product.\nPortfolio Requirements\nPlease include a portfolio demonstrating relevant technical and manufacturing work, such as:\nSolidWorks models and technical drawings\nManufacturing and production drawings\nAssembly drawings\nCustom product development\nCNC cutting or nesting work\nBOMs, cutting lists, or other production documentation, where permissible\nPortfolios demonstrating technical and production-focused work will be prioritised over portfolios focused primarily on concept development, rendering, or
