Every chip starts as a bare silicon substrate and moves through hundreds of precisely controlled steps - as an intern, you will work alongside an assigned engineer to help monitor those critical steps, catch abnormalities early, and drive improvements that protectwaferquality and yield.\nEssential Responsibilities & Project may include:\nIn your role as an Engineering Intern, you will be paired with an assigned Engineer to:\nSupport equipment preventive maintenance - execute scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting on time in support of production, protecting uptime,qualityand cost\n\nAssistwith tool installation,modificationand hardware repair to improve capacity,throughputand overall tool efficiency\n\nReduce variability in process recovery procedures and standardize processes across equipment\n\nReview, analyze and respond to inline process control charts to meet quality,costand productivity goals\n\nImprove early problem detection, including enhancements to limits of detection (LOD), and strengthen process performance measurement techniques\n\nExecute actions tooptimizeproduction moves, qualify new processes, and reduce the cost of chemicals and/or qualification wafers\n\nParticipate in quality improvement and cross-functional team projects, offering constant feedback on areas of improvement\n\nLead an improvement project end-to-end and present your results\n\nWhatYou’llGain:\nHands-on exposure at a semiconductor manufacturing company, shadowing experts and supporting real production work\n\nA working understanding of the wafer fabrication process and your assigned process module\n\nRoundtable sessions with local leadership and cross-department networking opportunities\n\nA capstone presentation at the end of the internship covering your project results,learningsand recommendations for improvement\n\nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Securityrequirementsand programs.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation - Actively pursuing aBachelorsdegree inChemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry or Physicsor related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.\n\nMust be in good academic standing.\n\nAbility to work at least40 hoursper week during the internship.\n\nAvailable for a 16-24 weekcredit-bearing internshipcommencingJanuary 2027.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior related internship or co-op experience\n\nDemonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.\n\nProject management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate andexecute onsolutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.\n\nStrong interest inleveragingAI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.\n\nAn inquisitive mindset and a positive, proactive learning attitude\n\n*Pleaseindicateyour internship period clearly in your CV / resume / cover letter*\nGlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer, cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
