As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.\nSummary of Role: GlobalFoundries in Essex, VT is seeking a Building System Engineer intern in Essex, VT.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nOperates, monitors and maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces facilities mechanical components and systems such as mechanical equipment, Process Cooling Water systems, and exhaust HVAC systems.\nOversees the Building Technician as well as the preventive maintenance program. \nDevelops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, improvements and maintenance of Building equipment, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design and providing scope of work for bidding.\nConducts periodic inspections of work in progress and advises construction supervisors and contractors on plans and specifications.\nInspects and maintains existing facilities equipment and prepares reports on the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs and estimated cost of repairs.\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements \nWork and collaborate with other projects and/or assignments as needed. \nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. \nOther tasks as assigned by manager. \nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation - Actively pursuing a Computer Science / Engineering or, Electrical Engineering Degree or related field. \nLanguage Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) \nAbility to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship. \nFluency in English Language - written & verbal \nPhysical Capacity Demands - Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior related internship or co-op experience \nDemonstrated troubleshooting skills / technical aptitude \nIndustrial / Commercial System experience \nUnderstanding of system design parameters, safety / environmental shutdown scenarios, and electronic control of equipment \nProject management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nStrong planning & organizational skills.\nExpected Salary Range:\n$20.00 - $40.00 per hour\nExpected Salary Range\n$0.00 - $0.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.\nIf you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please contact us by email at  let us know the nature of your request and your contact information.
