For more information, visit www.gf.com\nSummary of Role\nGlobalFoundries is looking for a highly motivated engineer to work in the Tape out organization, as an Engineer Frame Engineering located in USA (Malta NY, Burlington VT). The successful candidate will support tape out operations activities that would vary from frame design for a range of technologies to process improvements for enhanced productivity and quality. This role requires working with worldwide Frame and other engineers that use semiconductor manufacturing tools (i.e., lithography and metrology) and test tools in our Fabs. The successful candidate would be engaging in continuous process improvement in the increasingly complex world of chip manufacturing by applying Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, structured problem-solving and driving actions to reduce risks. We are seeking candidates with a strong passion for new technologies and advanced manufacturing, as we continue our Industry 4.0 Digitalization journey using technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, robotics, big data analytics and more.\nEssential Responsibilities\nEngage in daily operations activities: facilitating technology frame requirements, frame structures layout and frame generation for chips, ad-hoc change execution, work queue prioritization, and work hand-off across geographic locations. \nUse or customize internally developed software tools and commercially available software tools to enhance design process productivity. (Include generating input files that drive automation for Fabs and Mask House.) \nMake decisions to hold, escalate, promote and reject tape out support issues in alignment with FAB, Tape out Logistics Integration and FAEs. \nInteract with other teams such as Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Release Team, and Design Enablement, to assist with providing a best-in-class Customer Tape-out Operations experience. \nClose collaboration with FAB and TD Team to provide solution to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and improve cycle time. \nParticipate in assessing our team business processes and suggest continuous improvements as well as automation opportunities to enhance the teams' productivity. \nEnsure that processes are well documented, that failure modes are assessed and have mitigation and detection in place, \nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor's Degree in EE/ECE/CSE/Physics/Mechanical\nExperience: 2 years of relevant experience\nWorking knowledge of Unix shells and interest/aptitude to learn domain-specific programming/scripting languages/data formats.\nExperience with Cadence Mask Compose is a big plus \nExperience with Virtuoso environment and SKILL Programming, Device Layout Knowledge/Experience will be a plus\nAbility to communicate and work with a cross-geographic, multicultural global teams\nFluency in English Language - written & verbal - is a requirement.\nAnalytical problem solving and decision-making skills are basic requirements.\nApplicant must be a US Citizen\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET level U.S. Government security clearance\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProject management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong planning & organizational skills.\nExpected Salary Range\n$69,000.00 - $120,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.\nThe role you are applying for may require you to obtain a US Department of Defense Security Clearance at some time during your employment.
