For more information, visit www.gf.com.\nLocation: Penang\nEmployment Type: Full-Time\nShift: 12-hour rotating shift (where applicable)\nJob Summary\nAs anAssociate Engineer Process Trainee, you will be part of a dynamic manufacturing environment, supporting process stability, equipment performance, and continuous improvement across various modules and fabs. You will undergo structured on-the-job training and mentorship to build foundational skills in semiconductor manufacturing, data analysis, and problem-solving.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform process sustaining tasks on 12-hours shifts (morning & night) such as holdinglotsdispositions, shift pass-down, alarm recovery, tool set-up data review, SPC/FDC/YDD out-of-control inhibits and checking, data analysis and compilation, and tasksclaim as assigned by supervisors.\n\nTroubleshoot process related issues. Act as a first line of defense in the module and in responding to process, equipment and measurement abnormality and deviations.\n\nMonitor and analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts using SPACE and other tools; respond to process deviations and follow corrective action systems (CAS).Perform tasks according to out-of-control OCAP, Corrective Action System (CAS) with mindset of quality come-first.\n\nAssistin lot disposition and data collection for process and equipment faults; ensure accuratedocumentation and pass down.\n\nCollaborate with Engineers and Specialists on process qualifications, experiments (e.g., R&R runs, DOE), and improvement projects.\n\nExecute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaincompliance with safety and environmental guidelines.\n\nContribute to scrap reduction initiatives and uphold high standardsof operational discipline.\n\nEnsure safety, discipline, and housekeeping compliance in work area by all personnel.\n\nComply withenvironmental, health, safety and security (EHSS) system, policies, procedures and guidelines that are applicable to your scope of work and workplace.\n\nRequirements\nGood communicationand teamwork abilities.\n\nWillingness to work on rotating shifts.\n\nEagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing setting.\n\nDevelopment Opportunities\nStructured training and mentorship from experienced engineers.\n\nExposure to cross-functional teams and various modules.\n\nOpportunities to participatein innovativeand improvement projects.\n\nEducation\nDiplomain Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Microelectronics, Chemical Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or any other relevant engineering discipline.\nExperience\nFresh Graduate(Diploma)\nOther essential attributes\nPerform 12-hours rotating shift\nTeam Player\nGood ownership and accountability\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nFlexible and able to support overtime\nGlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer, cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
