This is a customer-facing, technical individual contributor role, responsible for enabling design wins by bridging customer requirements with MIPS’ product portfolio, including processor IP, software tools,and custom silicon solutions.\nYour Job\nCustomer Technical Engagement\nAct as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development phases\n\nSupport customer engineering teams in evaluating and adopting MIPS solutions\n\nProvide hands-on technical guidance on: Processor IP integration, Software toolchains,development environments,and System architecture considerations\n\nSupport technical discussions to secureproject anddesign wins for:processorIP licenses,software tools, and custom silicon programs and solutions. Assist customers in transitioning fromtheevaluation todesignexecution phase\n\nSolution Enablement Help Customers Understand andUtilizeMIPS’ Value Proposition\nBroad, industry-leading portfolio of RISC-V processor IP\n\nOpen RISC-V architecture flexibility,multi-threaded, high-performance compute\n\nFunctional safety-ready solutions\n\nSystem-levelconfigurationsforoptimizedperformance, power, area,and cost\n\nTechnical Problem Solving\nTroubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues across hardware and software domainsduringthe pre-salesengagementphase\n\nWork closely with internal engineering teams toaddressandresolvecomplex challengesduring the pre-salesengagement\n\nEnsure timely resolution of customer issues to maintainpositivemomentum\n\nCollaboration with Sales & Business Development\nPartner with Business Development to support opportunity creationthroughclosure\n\nProvide technical input toevaluations,proposals, RFIs, and customer presentations\n\nTranslate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams\n\nEcosystem & Market Support\nSupport engagement with ecosystem partners (software, EDA, design services)\n\nParticipationin customer workshops, demos, and industry events\n\nHelp position MIPS solutions within the broader semiconductor ecosystem inJapan\n\nKey Qualifications:\nQualified applicants will have a BSEE, MSEE preferred\n\n7+ years relevant experience in SoC/ASIC design and architecture\n\nGood understanding of RISC and DSP processor architectures\n\nGood communication and presentation skills, and experience working with customers in a pre-sale process\n\nWilling to travel (up to 30%) within JP\n\n Preferred Experience:\nExperience in multiple stages of a SoC design, from architecture definition, to RTL (Verilog) coding and synthesis, down to physical design\n\nHands-on experience in embedded system design, debug or FW/SW development\n\nUnderstanding of DSP algorithms for wireless communication, LiDAR/RADAR, image processing, and advanced sensors is a plus.\n\nUnderstanding of AI/ML based system design and use-case requirements\n\nUnderstanding of SoC design requirements for automotive functional safety\n\nUnderstanding of security concepts and standards-based building blocks for a secure SoC design\n\nGood written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.\n\nAbility to clearly communicate technical information in meetings, presentations, seminars, product demonstrations, customer training, and to provide guidance to the sales team is important.\n\nGlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer, cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
