For more information, visit www.gf.com.\nSummary of Role:\nWe are seeking a Field Application Engineer (NAM) to support and drive customer engagements with leading Industrial, Automotive, and Integrated Device Manufacturer (IDM) customers across North America. This is a customer-facing, technical individual contributor role, responsible for enabling design wins by bridging customer requirements with MIPS’ product portfolio, including processor IP, software tools and custom silicon solutions.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nYour Job Customer Technical Engagement\nAct as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development phases\nConduct customer presentations, architectural reviews and product demonstrations\nSupport customer engineering teams in evaluating and adopting MIPS solutions\nProvide technical guidance on: Processor IP integration, Software toolchains and development environments and System architecture considerations\nDesign-In & Design Win Support\nDrive design-in activities at assigned customers and design houses\nSupport technical discussions to secure design wins for: CPU IP licensing, custom silicon programs and software solutions. Assist customers in transitioning from evaluation to implementation.\nSolution Enablement - Help Customers Understand and Implement MIPS’ Value Proposition\nOpen RISC-V architecture flexibility\nMulti-threaded, high-performance compute\nHigh-performance scalable Neural processors\nFunctional safety-ready solutions\nSupport system-level optimization for performance, power and cost\nCollaboration with Sales & Business Development\nPartner with Business Development to support opportunity creation and closure\nProvide technical input to proposals, RFIs, and customer presentations\nTranslate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams\nEcosystem & Market Support\nSupport engagement with ecosystem partners (software, EDA, design services)\nParticipate in customer workshops, demos, and industry events\nHelp position MIPS solutions within the broader semiconductor ecosystem in NAM\nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. \nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering discipline or similar\n10+ years in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering or Design Engineering\nExperience in Semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, or embedded systems, Industrial, Automotive, or IDM electronics or related markets\nProven track record supporting customer engagements and design wins\nStrong understanding of Industrial, automotive, or IDM electronic architectures (MCUs, SoCs, domain/zonal controllers)\nFamiliarity with: Processor architectures, Embedded software development (compilers, SDKs, OS) and System-level design and integration\nStrong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills\nAbility to operate independently in a field-based role\nHands-on technical mindset with strong debugging capability\nAbility to bridge technical depth with customer business needs\nFluent in English\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with RISC-V ecosystem or CPU IP integration\nPrior experience supporting industrial, automotive, or IDM customers in North America\nExperience with SoC development and custom silicon implementation flows\nUnderstanding of functional safety standards or design requirements in Industrial & Automotive markets\nNo Recruitment Fee Policy: GlobalFoundries is committed to ethical and transparent hiring practices.
