For more information, visit www.gf.com.\nSummary of Role:\nGlobalFoundries Fab 9 Reactive Ion Etch (RIE) module is seeking a Process Engineer to become part of our 200mm Fabricator team in Essex, VT. The individual selected for this position will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering organization with primary responsibilities focused on development, support and continuous improvement of RIE manufacturing processes. This will be a fully onsite position, with a Mon - Friday daytime schedule, with some flexibility for evening / weekend hours as needed.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nIn your role you are responsible for the following. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to:\nDrive continuous improvement efforts in support of throughput , cost reduction, and yield learning\nDefine and maintain process qualification roadmaps \nDrive process qualifications, implement process control plans and in collaboration with the module equipment engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders\nDesign, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize manufacturing processes to meet technology (performance, yield, and reliability) and manufacturing (process stability, cost of ownership) targets\nUse Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to assess and mitigate risk for process changes\nMust be technically inclined and able to lead hands on tactical troubleshooting efforts to resolve long term performance issues; must be able to deconstruct and understand complex systems\nCollaborate with GlobalFoundries' integration, equipment, and quality engineering teams to support the development of improved next generation technologies\nUtilization of structured problem solving (using methods such as 8D) to execute troubleshooting and help develop solutions that prevent recurrence\nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs\nOther duties as assigned by manager / supervisor\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation: BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering physical science discipline\nExperience: Minimum 4-5 years of Semiconductor experience, as well as a solid understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE)\nFluency in English Language - both written & verbal\n10% travel may be required\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required per cleanroom protocols / standards\nDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments\nStrong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs\nAbility to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners\nExcellent interpersonal and presentation skills, energetic and self-starter\nPreferred Qualifications:\n6+ years’ experience as a semiconductor process engineer\nKnowledge of semiconductor/silicon processing\nPrior experience working in a semiconductor cleanroom environment\nTechnology related Master’s and/or PHD degree: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or other relevant disciplines\nWilling to work a compressed shift for the first 6 months during training\nExpected Salary Range\n$85,000.00 - $146,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.\nIf you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please contact us by email at  let us know the nature of your request and your contact information.
